Man, I knew it, I knew. I was thrown by the box, but as soon as I saw the suspension linkage, I knew. One of the only brands, to run a full floating shock. Propains are amazing. I was considering a spindrift, but ended up going for a Tyee.

I've a spindrift with a set of fox 40's on it (yes it's overkill)..the biggest surprise you might find is how well it climbs for such a long travel bike.

So here is a review from a guy how rode nearly 200.000hm of trails last season on a Propain Spindrift (size L, 29):
1) I have long legs so I don´t mind the long seat tube. The issue is the short insertion depht. You basically have to run a ~180mm dropper + a quick release seat clamp.
2) The bike isn´t super quiet. The cable routing is ok, once you manage to secure those rubber plugs holding the cables in place. A layer of 3M mastic tape on top of the chainstay protection helps reducing further noise. The derailleur snaps back after heavy compressions (especially with sram products like you noticed in the video).
3) This is NOT an enduro race bike! The frame is designed to be an allrounder: it has excellent pedalling characteristics + has to perform as a freeride/ park bike. The trade-off is, that it can get hung up on roots, rocks etc. - it won´t feel perfect in that area, no matter how you tune your rear shock. But overall the bike feels "balanced" (with the 29" frame - on the mixed frame that´s not the case).
4) The customer support is top notch. They reply to emails in a couple of hours + I could also reach them easily by calling them. Overall very polite and cooperative staff.
5) Depending on the area you live, you can get to demo days and try out all their bikes. I spend multiple hours on pretty much every single on of their bikes (with different frame material, components, sizes, wheel size etc.). The whole crew is doing such a great job representing the brand. Good vibes all day + tons of informative conversations.
6) The build quality of the frame seems to be pretty high. I have zero complaints despite my frame looking like a wreck from all the abuse and countless crashes. Furthermore, the frame is super easy to work on. Easy to disassemble, to change bearings etc.
Summary:
For me the brand offers everything the average Joe needs - but not necessarily wants (everybody believes he needs a rearward axle path etc.). The value for money is unbeatable, great customer service paired with great allround capabilities. People compare the spindrift with frames double the price to find some imperfections - that alone speaks for itself.
If you are a serious racer or money is no objects, there are definitely "better" options out there - otherwise just get yourself a propain, be happy and spend the spare money on season passes for the next couple of years...
All my favorite riders are on propain you remy Atwill that is beautiful with the purple n oil slick.

Nice one lewis! Had one of these as my do everything, won a few enduro races, got some good DH podiums, and really great on jumps! Then put some xc tires on and ride ur local xc loop. Man it really did everything!

I had been waiting for 6 months for Propain to get my size, color, and build items were out of stock. I couldn't wait anymore so I just bought another brand. The main reason I even considered Propain is because of Remy as well. Propain would for sure have gotten my money but they didn't have what I needed.

Have been close to buying a propain a few times but the seat tube issue has just nudged me off a purchase each time. Issue is in the size large the reach is good but the 460 seat tube length and minimal dropper insertion depth means I can only get a 160mm dropper in for my 5'11 height which has been a deal breaker as my legs are short compared to my torso. I've demoed the bike a few times and loved everything else about it but hate riding with the saddle up my arse. Hoping changes get made in the future

I am curious to see how your experience will be with this bike.
I know that a german TH-camr with the channel name Lane 6 Riders had issues with faulty head tube on two Propain RAGE AL 2020 frames, first one got loose headset, he was recovering from a crash, but his friends did tested the warranty replacement frame with some DH runs, jumps, and flat landings, only lasted few mins before the headset was super loose. So he opted for a refund.
I hope they have resolved these issues. But I am curious why this happen. So I was weary about this brand.

Honestly great. Not as tough casing as a dh casing maxxis but they are close enough! Great compound and soft enough the grip! Still great sidewall protection

Awesome build! I just finished my custom Giga 290 MX build and my mate picked up a spindrift 29er and bought a spindrift mx for reselling. The spindrift has got to be one of the plushest bikes I’ve ridden. Not the fastest, as it takes away lots of energy in berms and doesn’t really allow you to gain much speed through pumping. Although I have to say riding the Mx version compared to the 29er (as full 29er and Mx setup), the designated Mx frame feels unbalanced. My Giga is more race oriented but not quite as playful, but definitely faster. Looking forward to your review/comparison;)

Yeah, that’s just the way it is at times. Trust me…it’s tough to let everything role of the tongue with no stalling. I try to get better but it’s tough to be perfect.
