How fast can it go? Does it use battery? How long does it last on one charge? Does it have the field charging capability? In towing how does that work? Does it have a motorized sled with tracks? Or do I need to drag my wounded friend with a noose tied to the bumper? Is it armored? The brain of the system seems exposed. How does the weapon affect the runtime, operation, and range?
I think the coolest part is the tether. Having a vehicle that could go with a squad and maybe carry a mortar or an HMG but also not having to worry about some guy controlling it all the time is great. Just tether it to one of the soldiers and it following them around is perfect. The only thing I would prefer is a bumper that would encompasses the whole vehicle, tracks included. That way it won't run over a soldier or flip itself when one side tries to run up over a large object.
I have thoughts: move the sensor package down below the gun, armor plates on the sides mounted to swing so it can be deployed as a barricade and give coverage of those treads, maybe a mlgs (multi launch grenade system) on the fenders for artillery and crowd control options.
Reminds me a lot of an updated M274 Mule. I actually have one from 1969 that I use on the ranch. Very useful for carrying fencing supplies, cattle feed, hay or anything else within reason.
Hands are positioned high on the controller so your trigger fingers can engage the top triggers, under the red switch covers. Watch the video again and you'll see that it's a natural position for this control. You're thinking from a game paddle perspective, and these certainly aren't game paddles, with M2 (50cal) or M134 (7.62mm) miniguns on top. One of the coolest miltoys yet, eh? (Oh, wait, I just said this wasn't a game. Nevermind.) Soldier perqs, not miltoys. (Fixed it.)
@@ljprep6250 What difference does it make lol? It's still inconvenient, the top triggers shouldn't be there. If it was designed like a sony or xbox gamepad with the screen on the top it would be less awkward in the hands.
Aaaaaand what about the time to charge the batteries? And how long do they last? How do you charge them when you're a middle of a battlefield? Anyway the follow mode with the cable is nice.
panda dragon the competitor to this one unveiledz had a drawer between the tracks that carries up to 3 rechargeable batters bank. It's about a 2.x3' rectangle , slide the dead Out and new in. Uses regeneration to lengthen lifespan , rechargeable by any generator or diesel vehicle that will have plug ins for cables for this type of stuff. The other one could do 15 hours per battery. They said the idea would be dropping them in by air to the location, not having them drive to patrols. Working on a solar charger for then too but the gave no info.
It's amazing how similar the controls are to those of a video game. Left stick for movement, right stick for aim, left trigger for making the weapon ready and right trigger for firing. The controller here also closely mimics the layout popularized by the PlayStation 2. Is this a conscious choice?
@ 2:20 - Why place the movement cameras on the turret and not on the body, so the turret can swing while the cameras are monitoring movement ? So the unit can't fire while driving, unless it's remotely operated by 2 people using the General Dynamics stick remote and the MightyHawk ?
your safety bumper shut off is recessed behind a foot of track on each side. that means it just runs up my leg and then i can hit the bumper with the full value of my torso. great planning guys!!!!!
Reality Check unfortunately for us , if these one day turn on us lol the scary thing is they will be drone piloted off site but every one will have the sensors package our military is requiring for EVERYTHING now, the f35, c130 observations, Apache lo tbows and standard , A10, hand held soldier units, our new Abrams and APC's ,..they all use that information gathering system working together to locate all threats and priority along with every other bit of info. The computer in the F35 for example will communicate all its seeing along with everyone else and to respond f to your question, it can then send the target coordinates from all surrounding sensors and then the unit uses its satellite location and a multi access IMU to determine its own oriention and then can fire rounds on target with or without a camero for deone pilot. That's the beautify of of us being the o my one my using the target traingulatinf and battlefield. Gathering sensors . Think just about everThing has then already aside from some of the APc's. The competitor to this one had some sort of case looking piece that seemed to snap over the entire Amonand belt ,..sure this will too. there's a lot of people already looking for weaknesses but I assure you when skunkworks gets they're hands on them. It won't beeasy. They are using the same lens tech for its sensors that the f:35 and A10 update use which is damn near invincible not to mention will be like trying to hit baseball from distance.
That Should Work saving our boys. The whole idea is putting these in. Patrols manned by drone pilots in the states.
