On my phone it doesn't operate like that. I also posted by mistake. I found it by going to profile, then tapping my profile pic...that brings up all stories...then bottom left will bring up delete ....or bottom right with the curved arrow

There are no 3 dots on mine. I was changing profile picture and some how it went to stories. No 3 dots and no arrows to remove.
