i like this, so much that I built one of my own that's pretty close! I had to stop using it because my truck is quite long, with an extended bed, so my challenge is to get the snow away from the garage door enough that I can drive up to the door and back away with the plow engaged. In many instances, I am shovelling half the driveway before I can use this (or I end up driving and packing down snow that won't come up after without a scraper. So I guess my question is... have you considered a drag/pull-style plow instead of a push-style plow? I see Ebling and Daniels both make very nice drag plows but they're more expensive than my used truck, but when I see on video how close they get to the garage doors, I can't help but envy!! so far nothing I've tried works well at all. it's disappointing
It's great to hear about copies and improvement of my plow being made! There are limits to what this plow can do. One problem with drag plows is you drive over the snow before the plow. To clean all the way to my garage door I have started with my car parked in the garage before the snow falls. Then I can plow my way right out of the garage.
I keep thinking about making an upgrade but this little plow just keeps working as is. Version 2.0 might include. Two 2X6's would fit in the 3" wide trailer couple better than the 4X4. I had to reinforce the 4X4 with a bunch of construction screws to repair splitting with the grain. Replace the hinges with 1/2" bolts. The hinges get bent up. A front mounted receiver hitch would be awesome.
3/4 done building one.. watched this a zillion times because im so mentally deficient.. thanks for sharing this

Can you make a plow that mounts to the rear hitch thar can backdrag?

Do you mean no hinges? I cant figure that out...
What do you do to keep the hitch locking mechanism from wearing out?
