Reportedly, the crowd noise reached the level of a jet aircraft taking off. And it may as well have been, since Auburn was headed off to Atlanta and the SEC Championship game by winning that night.
Although I am an Alabama fan, this right here - the emotional reaction and adoration of the home crowd on the unexpected - is the absolute best of college football. It hurt to be on the other end, but if you watch enough games, you'll experience both the highs and the lows.
Every month or so I search out this specific video, because that roar of the crowd is something that every good person deserves to be a part of once in their life. It is a moment of pure unhinged elation, and I'm not an Auburn fan or an SEC fan or even a college football fan. So you know it's one of the top videos on TH-cam
crazy to think this was a decade ago. early 20-teens videos are starting to have that strange obsolescence that videos from the 80s and 90s have, where you can remember being in the time period of the video; where you were, who you were with, what you would've been doing, what was on your mind, etc so you remember them with the same novelty you experienced them with. but then you see videos like this and it looks visually different due to camera quality and video software and it reminds you of videos youve seen of the past that were shot before your time. history suddenly seems much more near.
The moment everyone realizes it’s not your average return and he’s gonna score will forever give me goosebumps and I’m not even an Auburn fan. That’s just sports for ya!
I'm not an Auburn fan, but I can't stand Bama. So when I watched this play at a friends house in the heart of Texas, the entire room erupted, jumped around, and was shouting GO - GO - GO. A lot of Texas fans were happy for y'all.
I'm a Michigan fan, and I think this is the greatest play in the long history of college football. This view from the student section is pure gold, especially when they realize that he's breaking away.
That play made all the national news outlets. I remember when Rod Bramblett had a telephone interview with Fox and Friends. They called him the Holy Cow man based on his screaming when he realized that Chris Davis was going to score. RIP Rod and Paula Bramblett.
I can't even imagine how hyped I would be if I was in the student section that night. I'm not a fan of either team, but that makes great games like this even better. I still love the fact that Bama and Saban fought and argued to get that 1 second put back on the clock just to end up losing like. One of the best endings in college football history.
I was just coming to a point when I could understand the sport when I heard about this. I'm a South Carolina fan, but I spent most of my last summer at this school. After seeing the passion these fans have for their team, how can I help but be a fan too? I also understand the elation that comes from winning a rivalry game. The importance of this game couldn't be overstated: not just a chance for the playoffs, but bragging rights. This miracle play makes it that much sweeter. The crowd reaction gives me chills every time.
Great video! It's the first I've seen from IN the stands, and the reaction is captured to perfection, especially starting at 0:21 when everybody goes nuts. From this Alabama fan, way to go on what was far and away THE BEST Iron Bowl ever. This will be talked about for generations to come. Now, please, bring home the BCS trophy to our state for the FIFTH STRAIGHT YEAR!
I am a Gator and this is one of the greatest sports ending videos of all time. I was losing my shit with you guys right here in my living room. College football is the greatest.
Husker fan here who is 'very proud' of Auburn's well-deserved victory. You are the BEST in the State of Alabama...and here's hoping you become the 'Best in the Land!' coming January. Congratulations & 'WAR EAGLE!!!'
bro i remember watching this live at the age of 7 i went nuts 🤣 dude words can’t describe how happy i was that Chris Davis won. cant imagine how much yk what he got the next day
I'm a Rutgers fan so I belong no where near any SEC school's greatness but it was still amazing to see a powerhouse like 'Bama fall to their all-time rival. War Eagle baby!
From a huge Big Ten-Four (if only they could count) fan: I may have enjoyed the results of Ohio State beating Alabama this last year more than the 2013 Iron Bowl for what it did to all the crap SEC and/or other fans have said about us for years, but this is the only game, and specifically play, in history to single-handedly make me a fan of a team, assuming that they're not playing one of mine, etc. Inside the SEC, I now root for Auburn, straight out, because of this.
As an Ohio State fan. That night, despite our team choking in the B1G championship game. That night was the best 15 seconds of my life. The hope we had. The miracle outcome. It was a perfect night for football.
I had just returned from an electronics store with my new sound bar for my new HDTV and had just plugged it in minutes before this amazing play occurred. I bet the sound knocked some paintings off the wall at my neighbor’s condo.
ill never forget this dreadful day.. im a Bama fan and my brothers an Auburn fan.. we were standing side by side in front of the tv. Still have not heard the end of it! lol
This video is priceless. LOVE the look on the first two guys' faces. I can only wish we had as much as a caliber football team up here in College Park, MD. We despise Florida State University. Beat the living tar out of them in the BCS Bowl!!! GO AUBURN!!!
0:21 Never seen this except with a PA and sound reinforcement system. The sound of the crowd screaming - unamplified - was so loud that the camera vibrated and went out of focus from the spl. That's not from his hand shaking - it's from the sheer dB level of the crowd screaming.
You got us. I'll give you credit. However, google Saban's revenge game record while at Bama. We are not going away. The run is not over. See you in November in Titletown.
We (my brother and I) were there for this game and the Georgia game. It is unsurpassed. I almost had back to back baby heart attacks. We didn't think something like that would happen TWICE! btw - love Ole Miss. I drive through Oxford all the time to see my hubby. He's building an addition to a hospital in Little Rock. Oxford is lovely. And my husband is a Bama fan. bahahahahahaha
I’m a die hard Nebraska fan by far the best return in college football so much chills if Chris Davis had done nothing all year until that kick return for ye he probably would have go drafted for this one play lol
Was a senior in high school and every years they made I sank lower and lower to the floor hands over my mouth in complete shock. Was a sad sad day hopefully we will be 4 in a row against Auburn but that place is voodoo curse or something Roll Tide!!! Hope Alabama and Auburn 11-0 coming into the game and Alabama 12-0 Auburn 11-1 and both either in Semi Final or National Championship Game and next year if we were both undefeated going in to the game there’s a big chance it will be a SEC Championship Game has the SEC done away with divisions then in 2013 there would’ve been a rematch two weeks to a months later in December. The greatest rivalry of all time especially in state!!!
The moment when the crowd realized he was gonna score and started going crazy gives me chills every time
Me to dude
Bro yes.. it’s crazy this happened 7 yrs ago and I still get goosebumps
Me too, and I’m a Bama fan.
I can hear Rod Bramblett in my head as I watch it. Its truly special.
This is everything that there is, about college football ❤️
I was about 10 miles away when this happened and I swear I could hear the crowd from thwre
Hell I'm from Texas and I heard em way out here
Hingle McCringleberry actually 101,000 people there
4 years late but heck yeah I bet u could 😂 in the upper sections was absolutely insane too 😂
Reportedly, the crowd noise reached the level of a jet aircraft taking off. And it may as well have been, since Auburn was headed off to Atlanta and the SEC Championship game by winning that night.
I'm not an Auburn fan, but I have to admit that was a great play. My jaw dropped.
I love it - from nervous cheers, to painful silence, to relief, and finally to elation in under 20 seconds
AUBURN'S GONNA WIN THE FOOTBALL GAME!!!!
THEY'RE NOT GONNA KEEP THEM OFF THE FIELD TONIGHT!!!!
He ran the missed field goal back 95 yards
Merino 33 nope 😂
May he rest in peace

This will NEVER grow old!!!! CLASSIC!
One of the greatest plays in the history of football. Still give me chills 7+ years later. It's great to be an Auburn Tiger! War Eagle!
Although I am an Alabama fan, this right here - the emotional reaction and adoration of the home crowd on the unexpected - is the absolute best of college football. It hurt to be on the other end, but if you watch enough games, you'll experience both the highs and the lows.
Greastest return in college football history !!!! Period
I watch this play at the beginning of every football season. So good.
crazy to think this was a decade ago. early 20-teens videos are starting to have that strange obsolescence that videos from the 80s and 90s have, where you can remember being in the time period of the video; where you were, who you were with, what you would've been doing, what was on your mind, etc so you remember them with the same novelty you experienced them with. but then you see videos like this and it looks visually different due to camera quality and video software and it reminds you of videos youve seen of the past that were shot before your time. history suddenly seems much more near.
I feel for anyone who doesn't like sport. There is nothing NOTHING in life to match it. And I don't support either team.
you must be a virgin
I literally just said this. 6 years later lol!
Agreed. Bama going for 3peat. Auburn coming off 3-9 season. SEC West on the line. Rare play to win the game. Nothing can top it.
I've got no dog in this fight either, but moments like these are why they play the games.
I'll bet a bunch of Auburn boys got lucky that night
Explain
@@kingarthur7276 it’s rated R I believe
I had the EXACT same thought! lol
0:28 u saw it on their faces too, they knew “shit boutta go down tn”
I was there and I got lucky twice. So yeah

Notre Dame fan here and exact same scenario. My house was an earthquake when it happened.
From Connecticut and can’t stand bama so I was going crazy
That describes us SC fans..and most everybody in the US too. I wish that play happened for my Trojans. Fight on!
I'm an Aggie and I also get chills when I watch this. What an exciting and unexpected ending.
The escalation of the sound from the crowd, when they realize the ballcarrier is getting a free way towards a touchdown.....NICE! :-)
I'm a Michigan fan, and I think this is the greatest play in the long history of college football. This view from the student section is pure gold, especially when they realize that he's breaking away.
0:20 - When everybody realises that the impossible is possible.
I LOVE the moment the crowd realizes Chris is going to score!

I think this play just united the entire SEC in giving a big FUCK YOU to Bama.

Still watching one of the greatest plays in football history. Poor Nick Saban. Very smart play by Chris Davis Jr - he was thinking. Just incredible.
Nebraska fan for this video ALL DAY!! What a memory for these fans!!

War Damn Eagle and Go Bucs. Congrats on the National Championship.

hah, Go Bucks. I hate the Bama more than just about any other team, other than Michigan, of course. :) I was amused by this when it happened lol

I'm a yankee from up north - just happened to stop scrolling the channels when Griffin lined up to kick - I come back to watch this play all the time
This is an absolute memory I will forever be jealous of this guy for having
Through all this the band kept jamming War Eagle flawlessly!!!

As a Ohio State fan I was screaming when this happened. We needed Auburn to win for us to have a chance to go to the BCS Bowl Game.
