Yep, the outro of that song is almost certainly either a Jaguar or a Jazzmaster. Their plucky jangly surf tones are unmistakable. A strat can get close to that sound, but it’s not quite the same. The first half of the song sounds like it could be a strat, though.
Checking out the live stuff so far there seem to be 5 strats in circulation… the 62 and 55 Sunbursts, the 61 Red and two White Strats…. 61 models I think. The first one is recovered Strat seen in Rock in Rio 2001, the second is the beaten up white Strat that appeared at the beginning of stadium but was eventually gifted to Zach Irons. It seems John has got the latter back and you can still see the strap lock on the opposite horn where it was converted to a lefty during Zach’s tenure with it. Also strangely John doesn’t have the whammy screwed in on the Red Strat or the beaten up white Strat….so far at least.
Justin, been loving the recent content a bunch, awesome work! I'd love to see a video highlighting Josh Klinghoffer's phase in the Chili Peppers and the incredible talent he contributed. People really sleep on how genius a lot of his work was, not to mention his solo stuff. I'd love to see people coming around on him, I honestly am really going to miss the original flavor and personality he injected in the band.
Yes I agree. Feel bad for Josh that he had to be let go. He has so much talent it's sad to not see it being used on a larger platform. I really hope something happens for him soon. Major talent and humble dude.
i don't know how the hell fru gets his voice so high if he smokes... although maybe smoking isn't why i can't sing high, maybe i just can't go that high. haven't been able to go high since i was 18-19.
It will be interesting to see if he ever starts using newer custom shop or reissue strats live because of how expensive and hard it’s is to get hold of the vintage gear is now

I was wondering for how much longer he would take his 50 year old and very expensive guitars on world tours. As a lot of other musicians that used to use similar guitars now use new guitars on world tours.
A $50,000 guitar is literally like pennies to him. He has said many times that he doesn’t use reissues or any new guitars. So, I doubt that will happen.

The Outro of Here Ever After definitely has the Yamaha SG on the Left Side and a Strat on the Right.
