Agreed! Genya and Sanemi are by far my favourite characters in the series because they're both so well written and complex, their backstory is so tragic and really traumatised them both and their relationship is so heartbreaking and complex because they love and care for each other so much, but it's hard to reconnect after everything that happened and it's really sad. They're such great characters and it sucks that they're both so underrated.

Genya also is not half demon, it's his blood that allows him to temporarily gain that demons abilities. He's so terrible to his brother who wants nothing to do but apologize, it was complete overkill what he did to nezuko, like I understand you needed to weaken and injure her to get her to want to eat blood but even after she proved she was a good demon he continued to hate her and tanjiro. I get tomioka never gave the reason why he always said he wasn't meant to be a hashira but the amount of hate he threw to tomioka is crazy, to the point of fighting in a meeting and disrespecting oyakata sama? He also knows that Genya would try to follow him no matter what, so he went for harsher methods to try to get him to leave. He loves Genya more than anything and is trying to protect him as he is his last remaining family member and little brother. As a child he was also a really kind and gentle older brother and very loving towards his little siblings. His trauma is what changed him.
