Hey everyone, this was the longest and most challenging video I've ever made, and while it's not perfect, I'm pretty happy with the amount of detail I was able to include. Hope you all like it :)
One of the best connections I've found in LOTR is the Phial of Galadriel. Back in the Years of the Trees of Arda, light was brought to the world through the Two Trees of Valinor. The elf, Feanor, is in awe of the beauty of Galadriel's gold-silver hair and asks 3 times for a single strand and each time she declines. Inspired by her hair, Feanor created 3 amazingly beautiful gems called the Silmarils that captured the light of the trees of Valinor. Afterwards, Melkor allies with Ungoliant, a primordial being that took the shape of a giant spider, and uses her to poison and destroy the Two Trees of Valinor and their last flower and fruit become the Sun and the Moon. As for the Silmarils, one ends up in the sea, and one ends up in the earth. But the last one ends up with Earendil, Elronds father. He places the Silmaril upon his forehead and uses it as a guide back to Valinor, where the Valar set the Silmaril as a star in the sky. Fast forward 6000 years to the Third Age, and Frodo is given the Phial of Galadriel, containing the Light of Earendil, their most beloved star. In essence, Galadriel has basically just given Frodo one of the Silmarils. It seems fitting that not only does Frodo receive this gift from Galadriel herself, the inspiration for the creation of the Silmarils, but also that he uses it against Shelob who is the offspring of Ungoliant, who destroyed the Light in the Trees that the Silmaril captured. What an absolutely amazing reference that only a small portion of people familiar with the lore will realize. And as an added bonus, Feanor originally asked Galadriel 3 times for a single strand of her hair, but refused sensing the darkness in him. Yet when Gimli asks for the same gift, she gives him 3 strands. This is why her gift to Gimli is so awesome, because of the implications behind it, and the backstory that only a select few will understand.
How cool would it be to have a game fully open world with all of this world's lands, you play as a immortal being of some kind and get to play through all the ages
@@cr90captain89 If I understand your question correctly (and please correct me if I didn't), Smeagol and Deagol we're not hobbits from the Shire, but of a tribe of hobbits that lived along the River Anduin. So the Ring did not go to the Shire before being found by Deagol. It was found by him right at the spot where the Ring had been sitting for 2500 years.
@@cr90captain89 to answer your question properly: we all know that Gollum’s real name is Sméagol Age: 500+ years old and this is because of the One Ring’s influence on him giving him unnatural long life and this makes him the oldest hobbit in the existence His origins: he is actually once part of the ancient group of Hobbit tribes (Harfoots, Fallohides and Stoors) Tolkien never revealed or specified whichever tribe Sméagol is in but all we know that these ancient hobbits including Sméagol and Deagol of course once lived near the river Anduin before their migration to the ruined kingdom of Arnor which would one day become known as the Shire, anyways the day when both Deagol and Sméagol found the One Ring in River Anduin was before migration of the hobbits that’s why Gollum doesn’t even know the existence of The Shire when the events of LOTR takes place because he’s never been there, plus he wasn’t in nor participate during the migration of hobbits because he was already banished/cast out/excommunicated by the ancient hobbits the day he killed Deagol and took the One Ring

To be honest our evolutionary history from our many extinction level disasters through out Earth’s history, to our revival and success is also very interesting and probably a bigger story than anything we could ever write, every time we find new discoveries it’s amazing how it connects to our lives and how we got here as a biological life form, now with consciousness to think, in a hostile Universe of “darkness” It just writes itself 🤯
I will go over all that when I make a vid about the Fourth Age, but to answer your questions, all lands were freed form Sauron's influence, but places like Harad and Rhun still hated Gondor, so war continued for awhile until eventually Gondor conquered them and made peace. The Dwarves did not immediately move to Moria, instead Gimli led a faction to start a new colony in the White Mountains. But eventually the Dwarves did return and make their home in Moria.
Not directly, but in a few months I will be covering a fantasy book based on biblical creation myths which takes a lot of inspiration from the bible, but that's about as close as I will get.
I'm a fan of Tolkien but by no means an expert. But I wager he could have made this four hours if he included everything. Tolkien did such a wonderful job of making a detailed history of Middle Earth.
Of course he wrote all of this, I mean what do you expect from a man whose dedicated himself to academic studies, languages and his favorite hobby writing almost his entire life? This is the testament proof of his genius unlike some writers today who can’t even write stories for shit nor even entertain

1st and 2nd age are paced so well. Then humans just push that pace so fast. Makes sense with the shorter lifespans.

What happened to Moria, Khand, Harand and Sean of Rhun? Were they freed from evil men and orcs? Did dwarfs settle in Moria after death of Balrog?

Because of the One Ring, it artificially preserved his power level. So even if he was killed he would eventually recover as long as the ring survived.
