Nice to see this one again! It really was a build just to try out a new airbrush. Nothing special, but I just loved the M04 chassis. Wish I would have done more with this shell, but happy to see it 15 years later!
I had one of these as a kid. My older brother stuck a brushless motor in it and took it up the car park with me. The tyres kept flying off and then it rolled over at top speed and smashed everything to bits 😂
@@AMPROEngineering Gotta be honest neither do I. I did have a bunch of VW magazines back in the day, they had the Cal look beetles in them. Getting old I guess.
I built the standard M06 kit, mine was black with dark red side panels. Love the car, the decals for the trim kinda suck. Gonna build another but use the Molotow Chrome on the trim where I can instead. Also, since the stock body posts look kinda clunky on these, I cut them flush and drill for a small pan head screw straight down into the post. Looks a bit better. If Tamiya didn't have them punched out already that'd be great.
I have been working on a DT02 chassis with a Sand scorcher body, I got to say that the DT02 chassis is way too old and I had lots of difficulty in adopting my moder short body servo or even 540 motor into this chassis, if you had this rig you'll know my point, but the DT02 chassis has a perfect wheelbase to fit the sand scorcher body.
What do you think about the Tamiya Mad Fighter. It feels like that's something you should talk about :) A low budget, hard body, simple but awesome RC. I'm interested in what upgrades you would do with that chassis. Thanks for the Rcentertainment. Greetz from Belgium
Actually, you are correct. I have that chassis with a different body but for the life of me, i cant remember what it is called. Ill have a build on that as well as a lot of upgrades!

For me, it is the color and the details on the wheels. There is something just so unique about it and I think it is amazing. As usual, well done!
Beautiful color combinations 👍
Oh yeah, he did a great job!
Looks sweet! always love RC VW BUGS they are so cool!! Just took my sand scorcher out and did a rip vid of it! super cool bugs!
That is how a scorcher should be used!!!!
That's beautiful! Inspired to finish my scorcher now.
The color combo is fabulous.

I know on most kits, tamiya punches them out. So annoying. Why not a dimple like HPI did?

I have a friend with that chassis. Even he had intentions of mounting that body to it and I think it will look good!
Nice build. Needs black shut lines on doors to break up the cream.
That would help a lot. I am sure the new owner will add them.
