- Maybe the worst Schleich figure, ever??? I'm not sure, but my is it bad! A few people requested it, so here it is in all it's horror, the Schleich Acrocanthosaurus!!!

Idk why everyone hates these. I like it's classical style. Looks like it came straight out of 1 million b.c. Made less for natural history and more for U.S history. Showing what paleontologists thought it looked like
I'm just SOO HAPPY that Schleich fired the stupid sculptor that designed all the theropods prior 2018(The 2019 Spino still has problems though, but certainly not as much as any of their past theropods)

i live in germany and their ugly figures are for sale in every supermarket, even in hardware stores. i guess thats the reason why they dont need no sculpting effort: their figures will sell anyway.
Honestly. I don't think it's that bad. Sure it's a bit weird but I still love him. He gives off retro dinosaur vibes

Why oh why have Schleich not taken this abomination off the market? How can they produce something like this,then give us what is possibly one of the best Kentrosaurus figures on the market. Great review as always Andy.

I don't really hate the figure, it reminds me of old retro dinos, but the colors on it are eh. Maybe some retro lovers will buy it.

Still better than their therizinosaurus.
I would prefer is Schleich would make a more accurate version of an acrochantosaurus with a more bipedal stance skull more accurate looking and a more appealing Color scheme

I haven't watched the video in full yet, but before I do it seems like the reason people hate this figure is because it's standing upright (kangaroo pose, as some people call it) like a retro-style Dinosaur. I personally do not have a problem with it, myself. I actually love the figure for that reason. And the paint job on the spine reminds me of Godzilla 1998.
Edit (post watch): I can understand the sentiment of wanting a scientifically accurate figure. The criticism of the body and the lack of proper detail is valid, but I don't agree that the pose of an upright dinosaur is ugly in and of itself. I personally really enjoy the retro-dinosaur look. I cant really afford a REBOR Retrosaurus, but I could definitely afford 2 of these, and repainting it myself.
The funny thing is, years later I've become such a massive fan of vintage Dinosaurs so the pose would be fine with me today. The figure is still pretty awful but has a charm to it.
@@andysdinosaurreviews I can respect that! Lately I have been looking for "Retro" style figures I could use in my animations, Carnosaur being the inspiration instead of Jurassic Park. But in the story I'm trying to make the "Dinosaurs" look like 'retro' dinos because they aren't actually dinosaurs but instead genetically engineered monstrosities. (Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, that must be why I like this Acrocanthosaurus figure so much, it just fits the story I'm making).
@TheReidmeister96 I LOVE that idea! It sounds incredibly cool. I'd love to see a film adaptation with stop motion or a man in a suit gimmick. Carnosaur was one of my favorites growing up. All three of them to be exact.
@@andysdinosaurreviews That is exactly what I am attempting to do! :D The idea is to push out 4 maybe 5 1 - 2 minute long animations, and use those to make a pitch for a short film. The first one is on my channel and the second is almost, I would hella appreciate the watch~
And dude, same here with Carnosaur!! I remember seeing the sci-fi channel premier of "RAPTOR" when I was a child, preceded by a marathon of the original trilogy (RAPTOR uses stock footage from all 3 carnosaur films, not a single frame of dino-footage is original). For the longest time I thought the film was a fever dream, but I found it on youtube for free! :0

Haha Raptor! I have that movie on DVD. Always thought it was hilarious that they just recycled footage from Carnosaur. They did the same thing with the movie "The Eden Formula" if you've ever seen it!

i actually find it super cool, that schleich went full retro on that particular model. Theres tons and tons of ''super anatomically correct'' dino models out there. Let there be this single 70s style one. i personally enjoy it as much as all the other ''modern superb'' ones.
