first rule of castle defense, don't fight beyond the range of your artillery support.
First rule of castle defense is actually don't place most of your forces outside the castle walls.
@@samiamtheman7379 In "Wally the Cowboy," he says, "That's right. I forgot. It's a fort! Just close the door."
This made this unwatchable for me.
@@samiamtheman7379unless the forces can't fit in the castle lol
Was a real pain to watch if one thinks logically about it.
Imagine the smell of this place a few days later. The land would be the best farmland for the next 50000 years
Неа. Скорее наоборот там ничего нельзя будет сажать. Про трупный яд слышал? Там теперь им все пропитано.
@@rgb_00ff00 I had not heard of that comrade, you learn something new everyday !
@@ungfaceCan you get a reference on where zombies and human corpses benefit soil fertility for farmers? In my opinion, you are very wrong even though it is clear that there is poison, and it is causing damage to the soil
Large amounts of human blood make for terrible farming. The entire area is tainted, meaning much of it would be unsuitable for growing crops. Not to mention the diseases...
lmfao
Without the firework archers, I honestly believe that battle would have been lost. They gave supporting fire that kept many units from being overrun, and thinned the horde immensely.
what are these arrows tipped with? 155mm HE-Shells?
Dude what about the jedis they were slaughtering them. You got to admit that they also played a role of actually killing a lot of zombies while pushing them back
I mean take a look at the whole left side of the zombies forces that was done by the jedis themselfs after showing up
I started thinking about the same thing sometime between the 1/2 and 2/3 mark, once it became clear the humans were going to win. The final margin would give the impression that the battle wasn’t all that close, but I’m really curious how it would have played out with just those 5 fire archers removed. I mean, this is only a rough estimate but it looked like a single shot from one of them could take out 100, maybe even 200+ zombies - obviously there were quite a few shots that didn’t appear to hit any at all, but still, those 5 units definitely did a lot of the heavy lifting.
If there was friendly fire enabled zombies would have won xD
Defenders: " It's fine. There's only 14 million"
That archer line did way better than I expected
Yep- they stood their ground like champs.
mostly thanks to jedis tho
That firework archer putting a round through the entrance was a thing of beauty
You have a timestamp for that?
Edit: Ah, nevermind. Its 54:20.
And yes, it was absolutely wonderful! The fire archers surely have the MVP status here. Every time when they hit big time, the body count skyrocketet!
Points to the fact that ranged troops do not see walls, friendly troops, etc. just shoot right though them. I have to wonder, did the firework archers move up? Because it is only at the end of the battle that we see those fire strikes far from the defending castle.
A highly accurate representation of this historical event. I remember being impressed how Cleopatra managed to avoid friendly fire with her fireballs.
*Sees thousands of Jedi running into battle at **6:11*
“Now it’s a party!”
They're not fighting, they are glowsticking! XD
Epic. Protecting the flanks so the archers and catapults could do their work.
Without fire archers and the jedi this battle would have been lost.
4:12-4:20 That Transition from the Fireworks sweeping through the them closing in on the front line Was Fuxkin SICC 😂😂
The way they tumble, the music? Classic, perfection at its finest.
So we now know that probably a tenth of humanities forces could have stomped the zombies if they just used their castle defenses properly. Probably would have had practically no losses if this force had even a basic idea of defensive tactics
agreed....I mean why even have a castle for defense if it isn't being used and all of your forces are doing open field battle...stupid as hell
I think that it would be interesting to do some battle that focus more to the fortress defence rather than on a large ground battle. I mean more archers staying on the walls and less blocking units in front of walls, blocking rather gates than staying in open terrain. The fortress has several lines of defence, it would be intriguing to see if they can hold back the enemy.
It'd be heavily more 1 sided in favour of the defenders unless you can program wall scaling like World War Z does, otherwise you're funnelling millions of units into gates where it's 5v5 and all that matters in that situation is who's got the better troops almost regardless of numbers. Its a skill used in alot of total war games that if an enemy has a large army that will cause you huge losses, retreat to the nearest fort or bridge, stack up behind the gate or 1 side of the bridge and you can beat back armies 8x your size just by removing the numbers advantage if you can funnel them into 1 channel.
Already proven futile by Brad Pitt in World War Z. Instead of saving them, the walls trapped humans.
actually the gate battles won't matter....just using defense heavy units to block the gates while your archers on the walls and catapults rain fire from inside will destroy the bulk of the zombies.@@CB-lw7ty
ngl, Cleopatra personally leading the counterattack, fighting in the front lines, was kind of epic. (45:41 onwards)
Bout fricken time. I was gettin tired of the zombies winning
Bisou
Merci beaucoup!
Those fields around the fortress will be fertile for generations.
And the water poisoned enough to kill a space marine.
A minor detail@@MultiVulture
I never knew Roman Empire was so strong they eliminated the zombies. That’s epic
An absolutely incredible vid i thought that the defenders didn't have a chance against such numbers, though it puts extra importance on the Jedi's intervention to reinforce the defenders at a crucial time in the battle and those flaming projectiles for they truly took out a lot of zombies as well great video.
Love seeing the lazer knights push those lines back SO far
I would like to see 1 atomic powered tank with Directed Energy Weapon versus 14 million zombies.
No good. Just realize too many dead bodies may cause the tank to get stuck and the zombies can bury the tank with their bodies.
i have been watching a few of these epic battles and the more i watch the more i start thinking if this is how our own body's defence against bacteria/virus behaves too? just a massive onslaught till one side wins.
Who needs cluster ammunition when you have a fire Archer 😎
The zombies just wanted to borrow some sugar. Ended being hunted to extinction.
blood sugar
That first age battle from Middle-earth
Thank you for including the music in the description.... great video!!
Lol, the zobies are just going through a lake of blood at 4:35
fun to watch when more helps coming
Now that, is a BLOODBATH...
Wow. I had no idea that cleopatra could cast fireball spells.
Must be some sort of pure fiction, but isn't that cleopatra black? 😂😂😂😂
This was ASMR for the eyeballs
The videooperator 's work is exellent!! Thanks very much!!
Those Roman Soldiers lived up to their reputation! Love those Laser Knights and Firework Archers. 🎆↘☄
"The valley was laden with lakes of blood.. The roars of armies combined into one.. Men, shoulder to shoulder, back to back, uncertain of the future. What rained down was gone within seconds through the masses of bodies, combined, hills, as far as the eye could see.."

Fun fact that if you DOUBLE that sea of zombies you see at 2:38 that is how many Russians were killed in WW2.
First comment, by the way...DAMN, how did your PC survive?
The Jedi said fk around and find out 😂😂
If only Loki could have said to Thanos ..." We have a Chuck Norris "
Dang those units at the end tore the shit out then zombies
Centurions don't mess around!

I'm completely amazed that the zombies haven't yet reached the outermost wall.
this time you protected those catapelts with excellent tactics and coordination. very smart. i think that helped a lot.

Голые спартанцы, джедаи и лучники "огненное торнадо". Это гремучая смесь выкашивающая врага миллионами. С первых кадров понятно на чьей стороне перевес.
Awesome epic conflict. Quite a few tactical mistakes by the living forces, but otherwise darn fun to watch.

“Honey, are you going to be home in time for dinner?”
“I’m afraid the traffic is gonna be real heavy today on the highway of blood, sorry.”
I like that I can see the countdown of all the remaining and dead soldiers/zombies clearly.
4:08: SICK. A. F. 🤯 Also, RIP friendlies ;p
4:30: Emerging from a pool of blood to attack your foe is super metal🤘
4:51: Dammit, Gary! How many times have we told you not to wander onto the set while we're filming a scene!?🤦♂
5:00: When the artillery accuracy is this bad, you get REALLY uncomfortable on the front lines 😰
5:40: Uh... hmm... Well, I bet the zombies didn't plan for THIS! 😅
6:30: Not the Catapults! 😭 If only they were, I dunno... INSIDE the walls 🤨 Also, these are the most lackadaisical bowman I've ever seen facing down a horde of zombies ;p
7:30: When the battle is gruesome that the battlefield is defined by the every-growing sea of blood... 😱
12:20: When the Clones turn on the Jedi it be like...
17:15: The red goes so well with their lightscabers!
27:18: "Is that a second sun on the horizon? OH DEAR GOD!" No worries, the Spartan's armor will protect them 😏
54:19: Man, those Firework Archers have some serious range and accuracy 😮
What also could have won the war: A single soldier in a narrow hallway ;p
If as many catapults as possible had been moved from the outside of the castle to the inside, and as many archers as possible had been moved to the top of the castle walls, and all forces had been moved closer to the castle walls, and roman soldiers had blocked all the entrances... I think the defenders could have handled an enemy force twice as big.
The archers on walls are useless
The fire archers hald in the game shot a lot volley's in there own rangks ... humans would have been overrunned if the jedi knights wouldend had comme to there aid. The jedi knight have maded a big difference. The moment humans where overrunned , the jedi knights came to cover both flanks, so the catapulds and archers could continiuosly killing from a distance and not had to fight in close combat. Annyway Awsomme vid thanks for sharing and posting !!!
As far as balance goes I would say it was a slight advantage to the defenders only because of the laser knights being kinda op against zombies I would say to counter balance that add in a few thousand trolls to the attackers kinda like there elite units or buff a 100k zombie to be able to fight laser knights on a more even playing field because with that many they just mow through zombies like butter
no need the hubris of the jedi was the cause of their own downfall
@@JPraider780 that's how it all started for the jedi. They began by protecting humanity then they agreed to help their allies defeat zombies. Then their lust for blood became insatiable which is how their lightsabers became red. Downfall into the dark side.
imagine if he actually made use of the castle instead for trickling his troops out of it.
For a show of force , I was surprised that the archers and catapults didn’t get in on the last castle and the 5000 zombies that were trickling out ….🤣👍🏽
I think it would have been much more interesting to see a human army defend a castle against an overwhelming zombie hoard then to have basically a battle in an open field with a castle as background scenery. That was a pretty funny role reversal in the end of the video though when it was zombies defending a castle against invading humans!
27:20
Can you imagine yourself been on the war, and then, by some miracle created to someone called "Arquimides" back in the time, see how a catapult full with fire-stones just kill thousands of both, enemies and allies?
You mean, Archimedes.
@@simonkormendy849 aye
This episode really puts reality into the phrase 'And the rivers will run red'.
Love this one, it's one of my favorites
That was really cool to see and I thought at around the 35 minute mark it was 50/50 as to who would win. Then for some reason, stack more defenders were suddenly spawned and just overran the zombies so there was absolutely no chance for them, shame.
4:27 now thats what i like to call... A BLOODBATH
Awesome battle. can't wait to build a new pc so i can have battles this large
Thanks,,, love the battle
What kind of CPU is capable of this kind of computing, very impressive indeed.
2nding this question, it's mind boggling. Is it really rendered in realtime?
There is literally zero scripted behaviour for the units.
That is most of the workload in games like Total War.
Good battle reserve timing good strategy good
Like the fact that manpower wasn’t sacrificed to weaken enemy like always done
Victory is winning with the least number of casualties
All you saw was a wave of blue mowing down every. Great camera angles with the fights.
This channel fuels my procrastination. But its so interesting to see it.
Imagine fighting chest deep in blood, glorious!
I so enjoyed that!
the horde had them 100 to 1, but they held the line
The super archers were useless till the enemy was quite close.
The trebuchets this time, were hard at work.
This feels like the Super Bowl
How do you make those firework archers? That's awesome
1) Friendly fire is not a thing in this or it would have gone worse for the defenders. 2) Building walls, allied soldiers bodies and probably rocks and hills do not block ranged fire. 3) Why were there almost NO defenders on the walls of the castle. The walls of the castle should have been covered in ranged defenders and catapults, etc. 4) given that walls DON'T block fire, the front interior of the castle should have been packed with ranged troops. Reserve Melee should have all mostly been behind the castle not in it. 5) It REALLY bugged me that the starting positions had this single wide band of ranged troops not pressed up against the wall of the castle. Then there was a huge gap between the single band of ranged troops and the wide band of melee troops. This made no sense to me. Defenders should have been backed right against the castle wall. There should have been no gaps between the bands of defender type and furthermore there should have been thin ribbons of melee troops sandwiched into the entire length of the ranged defender band. So that as zombies ( melee attackers only ) finally broke though the thick melee defender line they would only kill a few ranged defenders before running into a few melee to hold them in place. The melee defenders being so far forward they were already likely on the outer edge of the reach of the ranged defenders, when the melee moved forwards they moved away from getting range support. 6) Given the HUGE size of the Zombie force it was predictable that they would "wrap around" the defenders on the field, so just a straight line of defenders coming to a sudden stop with no bend of the line towards the rear, or some other kind of special formation to hold the far ends, was just dumb. That required the use of the Lazer Knights to prevent a catastrophe. 7) The Lazer Knights were really out of place and O.P. I think if the formation were done better they would not be needed. As it was in this battle I estimate that the Lazer Knights on their own killed something like 3 million zombies. 8) But it would have been really nice to see at the end a BY TROOP TYPE number of deaths and how many Zombies each Troop Type killed. 9) Why were the Spartans and last batch of Roman soldiers held in reserve so late in the battle. It seems to me they should have been released as the Lazer Knights were dying out to provide the ranged defender line with something of a wall sooner on, overall resulting in less casualties.
Love the battle. However I think that if you incorporate units that do massive destruction like super archers, etc I think they should be able to have friendly fire capability. Ridiculous when Super archer lays waste to an area and leaves defending army that it hits untouched.
I would have loved to see this battle repeated without super archers. I thinking sending all those Generals at the end would have more then made up for them.
Well damn if a super archer can't be super accurate as well.
I understand that the presence of units with area-of-effect damage can somewhat trivialize the battle. However, in a map with narrow entrances like this, units like the Super Archers are necessary. Without such units, both sides would be trapped behind the narrow gate, piling up bodies and slowly dying for hours on end.
Your suggestion regarding friendly fire from ranged attacks is a good one. Additionally, it would be great to have certain units with the ability to climb walls or overcome steep terrain.
Thank you for watching my video, and I appreciate your suggestions. I hope to have an opportunity in the future to compile these ideas and convey them to the game developers.
@@battlesimulatorgamer I would just like more common sense added to all units.
Such as knowing their surroundings as well as not rushing into an open area knowing they can be surrounded.
Zombies shouldn't be near indestructible either. 98% HP? Zombies are walking dead, that means SOME zombies have been decaying while others (Many) have had horrific deaths. No way should the entire Zombie masses be this high for damage. Some zombies would fall apart into pieces of gory/ rotting flesh, as they walk/run but all the zombies have all their arms and legs. So, OPing the humans with weapons seems fair to me.
I've read some reviews on Steam that say the game lacks a lot of polish in some areas, and unit creation is buggy, but for only $20, I think I may have to buy this game anyway.
Yes, the light sabre. The universes MOST ULTIMATE hand to hand combat weapon. Ever
These videos are fascinating
Also would be nice to see couple of Dark Younglings from Ains Ooal Gown.
how do you get the "Firework archers"? I did not find them I steam workshop and I cannot reproduce them with the custom unit tool
I wonder how many casualties the firework archers alone caused
None since no friendly fire but fun question
Well, of course you can win this way. Add and add your own every time)))
Is it actually 14 million? If so that is pretty crazy 😅
This still better than that battle for winterfell episode
Great battle!
Simply amazing !.
Is there a way to stop the front lines from perpetually moving forward? That's been a flaw in just about every simulation. Just stay put and keep the oogie boogies in range of artillery. Archers out here shooting dirt!
Yeah you set them to hold instead of guard.
wait wait wait did i read 20 000 spartans righttttttttttttttt .............. forget about the spartans the foot jedis omg !!!!!! i'm enjoying this ....
6:12 THE JEDI ANSWERED THE LIGHTING OF THE BEACONS
If you fon't clean this mess up this time, someone is going to bed without supper😂😂😂😂
Me not seeing a Spartan phalanx battle formation at the end 😂
Хорошее видео спасибо
Love the battle.
They certainly needed the following: six thousand spears and Riders of Rohan , the fellowship of the ring, the 47 Ronin and the 300 Spartans they then would probably have needed a fire team of the following: John's Wick and Rambo, Robocop and the few over 100 at Rourke's drift and they might have pulled it off.
Jedi was opppp .
Need to add more number of them they can spread zombie equally on earth
New sub is here
I like there is always to one guy wayyyyyy out in front on the charge. Lol
STOP ADVANCING BEYOND YOUR SUPPORT FIRE RANGE! OTL
This would be such a curvestomp if the melee troops held their position more. :P
But MAN, those catapults must have fired more stones than that fortress has in its construction.
(Also, I dont care how OP they are, those firework archers are beautiful to see in action)
Big thanks to jedi, but lets do not mention them in history bоoks about this glorious victory and about Cleopatra shooting fireballs as well.
27:16 was perfect shot
Melhor que muito filme de ação!
A question: Where are the dragons? Would be an epic, epic, epic ending if an army of dragons showing up in the very last minutes to help humans, like a trophy easter egg.
Positives: Useful depictions of the importance of flanking and outflanking, and the immobility problem of vulnerable artillery. Also, as several battles of Adrianople would suggest, of the issue of drowning, even in blood. Finally, the issue of timeous moving of reserve forces who seemed to be hampered by narrow gates. By the way, the fort or forts seemed in dire need of repair and improvement. Must be 2023 USA then?
Negatives: The main thing about zombies is once bitten, your own soldiers turn. Both the numbers and the scenes failed to prove these are real zombies. Secondly, the disconcerting realization that humanity would be toast because, without a sudden and improbable army of Jedi Knights, our right flank would have been overrun within 3 minutes. Our center would therefore have been surrounded and cut off within 15 minutes. And we all know Anakin killed The Order.
Finally, even pseudo-zombies do not need courage because they are hungry (yet seemed not to feed?!?) but humans would never have such courage as several regiments who marched into obvious death there. No, the myths about us are not true. In every battle lost (even won) we ran against our better knowledge.
Sidenote: The 20,000 generals (?!?!) need to consult with the ghost of King Harold of Hastings because the locked shield wall discipline seemed lacking and he can tell you all about that. Or read some Bernard Cornwell, the shields physically stay locked and pushing, with fighting limited to stabbing, no wide slashing, otherwise the shield wall, which was a precursor to the peace-time invention of rugby scrummage, is ineffective and useless.
Luckily there is no Friendly Fire xD
