The "massive DRL" isn't actually a DRL, its just LED accenting light that comes on with the headlights. The actual DRL is just a low beam from the headlight
I finished a lease on 2020 SE earlier this year and it was the best car to drive. Only thing I hate about the newer models since 2023 is how outdated the instrument clusters are on the Corollas now. Looks like it went back in time and is super bulky for no reason. I also hate the new touchscreen and entertainment system. They made it more complex for no reason and it lags a lot more than the first of this generation's models. Also had the finance department try and upsell me almost $80 more a month to put a guarantee in case the touchscreen breaks (apparently has happened to clients and it costs $3,500 to fix). Seems like they tried too hard to update the system at the cost of the materials elsewhere. Still love the SE variants and how they drive though. Much better quality than the LE models, those are way overpriced for what you are getting.
ok. So being able to get up to speed like to merge with traffic isnt on your list? This is a fine daily driver commuter car with a bit of pep to it's drive. Who wants a sluggish car that can't get out of it's own way?
I agree, its best to get the SE model. My wife has the 2024 Corolla LE or "the basic no pep" type model and it's like a cow trying to accelerate. Merging on the highways is ridiculous and especially that we live in Canada, the cold winter weather right now just adds to how slow the engine reacts for the first 10-15 minutes of the drive. Trust me, the basic Corolla is not worth what you're going to pay for. It's overpriced and drives a lot more sluggish and feels a lot more frail than the SE. Trust me, I've had 3 Corollas since 2014 and the SE model is the better option over the LE. The last generation of LE models were much better.
Jetta SE trim comes with heated seats and side mirrors, blind spot monitoring, moon roof and it's quicker by a whole second 0-60. I will say Corolla they make them look sportier than a classic design of the Jetta but its up to you and also have to take into consideration that the corolla will be more reliable in the long run maybe just not as fun as the Jetta.
@@jone30rw I'll have to film one at some point. Toyota says the hybrid net power is 138 so I wonder if the engine just has no power. Normally hybrids are more zippy. This N/A one was peppy for what it is
Nice review. I just ordered a Corolla SE Hybrid. Can't wait to get it.
Oh cool! The Hybrid is the way to go!
I would go hybrid since this would likely be a daily driver anyway. Could get the hybrid for same or less depending on configuration.
Good option if you drive a lot!
Not the case in NJ. The hybrids have a markup
Do you have any complaints about rattling of the doors, seats, or dash as I have read?

Gotcha
I don't know when 27k became an inexpensive economy car.
With how expensive other vehicles are, this is well below the average price and more on the "affordable" side.
where you been? lol been this way for years

Thanks for sharing!
The taillights are LED except for the turn signals and reverse lights.
Yeah.
only on XSE
@@InvestWithAlex XSE has upgraded LED taillights but base models still have LEDs. Just not upgraded.
Brother which one is better in hybrid LE AWD or SE AWD? I already booked LE but I have still time to upgrade to SE
Just depends on the features that you want and how much you want to spend.
Dude.. someone actually interested in this car as I am.. is not looking for a fun peppy drive. I want simple, clean. I’ve always wanted a Corolla.

I have a 22 hybrid base model. I get 64.8 mpg. I have an 11 gallon tank and i get 700+ miles.
Wow that's impressive!
and definitely there is no hill around your neighborhood :)
No remote start?
Not that I'm aware of for a factory option
@ yikes. Honda Civic Sport, it is
Jetta or this?? Didn’t Notice if it was equipped with that annoying stop/ start feature.

Was expecting you to test drive the SE trim with the premier package …oh well
I can only film what's available
Looks the same as 2024
Yup, makes sense since the car is only a few years old..
heads up: the front and back bumper is plastic, and after a while the white color changes to light yellow.
Can depends on how you care for the car. Every vehicle has plastic bumpers. If it's garage kept it probably won't have paint issues
It will turn to light yellow, especially if it is park under sun light (after a few months).
@@jone30rw That's pretty bad paint quality if thats the case
I can say that based on my experience. The plastic bumper change their color. It is not super bad but it is noticeable.
interesting. I'll have to look closer on these out and about and see if I notice
We bought the Corolla hatchback SE instead...
Cool.
fair price? 25k otd Corolla le no add on..taxes fee like 2k and delivery fee 1k
Sounds normal.
hybrid: 138hp vs gas: 169hp
Yeah you'd think the hybrid would have more power overall than the standard engine
It is good when the battery is full, as it helps with the power. but if it is empty, you feel that the engine is trying too hard to keep up.

2025 = 2024
Yeah not really any changes for 2025
