Cool vid! Here's an interesting story: My uncle owned at one point thee actual prototype blackbird which was titled as "PR-1." It was a silver T-Top car. There was also "PR-2" which was the convertible version. "PR-1"was built as a phase 1 car with 380hp. It was actually considered as a "Year One/Carl Black Blackbird Edition." I know it's alot titles wrapped up into one. In 2005 we entered the car at the Hot Rod Power Tour which started in Milwaukee. The folks at Year One stopped by to see the car and even gave us special silver decals to put on the window. We only drove it for one segment of tour but we had a blast. I just can't get over the chambered exhaust system and the way it was designed to be even considered as street legal "he-he".
Eventually he sold the car and then end up getting another one, only it was now a phase 2 car with 425hp and it was now called as a Carl Black Edition- the blackbird was removed because of legalities. (From what I was told- Matt Murphy would know why) but that car was even meaner. What blows me away between these two cars is that everything that was done from Carl Black, only the suspension was pretty much stock! I would know because I had one of them on the lift and did a inspection while doing the brakes. It's crazy with that amount of torque and horsepower these guys didnt try to beef up the suspension any better the the stock WS6 suspension package and lowered springs with the torque thrust wheels. But either way these cars are very special and rare!

Thanks! This one is labeled as PR-1 as well but as you said, pretty sure it started as Phase 1 and was later turned up a notch.

You just need to learn to drive better dude. Obviously you're not used to drive in cars that powerful or sensitive. It's a careful modulation of throttle and clutch not just riding the clutch and sometimes it doesn't matter what gear you simply need to coast in neutral or with the clutch pushed in while it's in gear and coasting. It's just practice. And yes you're doing this because the idle characteristics due to the cam which obviously does not like low RPM so if you're going to cruise slow you need to be in that 3000 RPM carefully modulating the gas anything under three grand you're going to be modulating the clutch as well as coasting to keep it smooth. Yeah you should try driving one of these cars with a spec stage 3 clutch those things are super sensitive they're on or off very hard to modulate. I had it installed in my car which made me learn how to really modulate throttle and clutch

Well it's no Gen2 TA, but pretty good. However, after 1981, the interiors became cheap looking. And you could no longer have a Pontiac engine after 1981. Not a huge fan of the Chevy engines in these, but I do understand GM's need for cost-cutting, & cheap can be attractive when you're on a budget.
