Mr Zerkovich, having spent 5 hours playing saga, I can completely agree with one of your previous videos that saga, is plain and very one dimensional. Lovely graphics on the campaign map but that is all it has going for it. I am already bored and returning to a combination of Warhammer and Empire. Love your videos, your efforts are very appreciated.
While I agree with you for the most part. Empire is probably the most boring total war man. I’d much rather play thrones than empire. Troy has potential though

My first battle i put light infantry on the front and tried to flank with heavy because they have charge bonus. Two units from frontline fleed but somehow I managed to win.
I personally saw that surrounding the enemy makes for an easy victory if you have some chariots to hunt the routing units. Have athena and ares as gods and victory is easy with a bit of micromanaging. Speaking of veteran battle difficulty and early campaig to turn 50

I am an old man and I miss the old way total war games played. I like heroes and new stuff but always have to mod the game to make it less arcade. This game screams arcade.
It's worth noting that for Sparta; if you're playing the campaign, they have a faction ability called 'Call to Arms' which acts as a global recruitment feature similar to other Total War games. This mechanic also gives Sparta the ability to recruit troops not native to their faction so long as they are allied to a faction which has access to those troops. For example (as mentioned in the video) Sparta doesn't have access to good (or any?) javelin throwing units but are able to get them so long as they are allied to another faction who can recruit them. If you're new to a Total War game or just Troy and want an easier start/game, then I'd suggest playing a Menelaus (Sparta) campaign to get you used to it before trying harder factions.
A couple of questions for you, Zerk. How much space do units need to charge, and once you route a unit, how do you decide if to continue chasing or disengage?
Not necesarily a lot to charge. If you see them sprinting towards the enemy, they've probably entered charging. Chasing down units is situational. You'll do extra damage chasing a fleeing unit, so generally a good idea to chase down stronger units, or units with ammo. And of course make sure your unit is faster than the unit you're chasing. Using a heavy unit to chase a light unit is just going to get your heavy unit out of position.
