I’m Nigerian. We tend to have savoury porridges in our cuisines. It wasn’t until I dated a Jamaican man that I was introduced to sweet porridge other than the traditional oat porridge you eat in the UK. I was introduced to peanut porridge but this plaintain porridge sounds right up my street! Thank you for sharing ❤
PERFECT, my plate is here. Merry Christmas and welcome back. I add one or two ripe ones to balance it. I love plantain porridge and your version is just yummy.
I've never had it, but I always see this Jamaican wife make it for her family. I intend to try this one day. I like porridge! My favorite is cream of wheat, then cornmeal pap. We would also make in the BVI🇻🇬 what we call milk n rice (rice porridge) but I don't know how to make it. Thanks for the recipe!🤗
I'm making this right now, I had most of the ingredients @ home except for oats and plantin, so I dashed to the store across the street lol. If it turns out good, I'll give the ingredients as a gift to my sister that is caring for my Mom, quick and easy. We're Belizean so I understood the assignment lol. 👍🏿
Yes yes yes, I will be giving this one a try. So you use green plantains? What are your thoughts on the yellow ones? Also is it better to use the plantains when they are over-ripe?
Are u sure u didn’t mean a teaspoon of cinnamon instead of tablespoon? Because I followed your recipe exactly like you said, and it tastes like it has too much cinnamon. I’m thinking you confused a tablespoon with a teaspoon

@@TERRIANNSKITCHEN oh ok😊
Hi Terri Ann, can you do a barbecue pork chops recipe or Christmas dinner inspired recipe?
Yes yes yes, I will be giving this one a try. So you use green plantains? What are your thoughts on the yellow ones? Also is it better to use the plantains when they are over-ripe?
Better to use green however use what you have or prefer!
I'm Haitian, and we make this weekly with carnation milk for breakfast.
This looks 😋. When do you eat it? For breakfast? Lunch? Snack?
Breakfast!
@@TERRIANNSKITCHEN Thank you, Terrie Ann! Keep doing your beautiful content! 😍

Hey beautiful ❤️
Can you use coconut milk???.... Have you ever made curry oxtail?
Yes you can and no I haven’t made it
Do you have to use green plantain? Is yellow ok?
Green
Green is best to be honest :)

Hi! Did you put oatmeal in the blender?
Yes!
Can I use ripe plantains since that’s all I have at the moment ?
Never tried but I’m sure you can😁
Do you boil the plantain before cutting
No it’s raw!
@@TERRIANNSKITCHEN Thank you
I have ripe plantain is that still ok?
If you are reading this always remember Jesus is King and Loves us all Amen
Hey terri is this eaten for dessert or breakfast ?
Breakfast / dinner - any time of day really 😃
How much water did you use to blend the plaintain and the oats? Or does it not matter how much?
It doesn’t really matter, as long as it’s blended smooth
@@TERRIANNSKITCHEN thanks for your response. I'll make it tomorrow. So excited!
I made it on Monday- de-lish!
Do a recipe for Christmas Ham❤
Hello, Nana 😊
Are u sure u didn’t mean a teaspoon of cinnamon instead of tablespoon? Because I followed your recipe exactly like you said, and it tastes like it has too much cinnamon. I’m thinking you confused a tablespoon with a teaspoon
You’re right it’s meant to be a tsp.
@@TERRIANNSKITCHEN yea I know i just had to throw away the whole pot 😒
This looks really nice but the evaporated milk, the Oates makes it unhealthy!
yummy 😋 😋
