FYI, the original time signature of this song is 3/4 which I found interesting in the re-imagined version of Mamamoo. They change the time signature from 3/4 on Intro/Verse to 4/4 right on the second Intro (2:00) and punch us with Moonbyul's rap and very upbeat music! (I'm 100% sure everyone who knows the original song will make that facial impression 2:13). 😂 The song continues until then they slam us with a 6/8 half tempo beat at 3:16, the transition was very smooth which we can barely notice. NO, it doesn't stop there at all ... Mamamoo brings their vocals half-tone modulation higher from D to D#, and again it happens very smoothly !! (4:46) and to wrap it all together is INSTANT VOCALS HARMONIES after intervals of silence 5:58, and they have done it without chords reference 6:05 !! Boooomm !! That was it, I was baptized as a MooMoo !! 👌 🔥

I thought it was really clever of the guitarist to hint at House of the Rising Sun in the picking pattern of the first verse but with a Spanish accent, and then quote from Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez just before all hell breaks loose on stage. Yeah, this was my baptism into moomooland too. My first Mamamoo MV was Piano Man and I thought it was terrific but I noticed a bunch of moomoos in the comments saying you ain't heard nothing til you've checked out MMM on Immortal Songs. When I saw Delilah in the search list I was all wtf?! the Tom Jones song?! so I watched it, lost my mind and practically dislocated my jaw. 😂 One of the great things about this version of Delilah that nobody seems to mention is that it's a song about a girl and Mamamoo not only sings it with no trace of irony, they treat the gender & sexuality of the couple in the song as an absolute non-issue. It makes a statement by not making a statement. An old fart like me who can't resist making an aze gag would call it "playing it straight". 🙄
