I’m “married” to Dewalt too and I was lucky enough that Santa brought me one of these a year ago. I don’t use it a lot but it does have its place in the shop. One observation I’ve made is that it seems to be a bit tipsy. It’s top heavy with the battery and a bigger base might be helpful. I would love for you to do a follow up review after you’ve used it for a while. 👍
Santa got me one too! My SIXTH one!! That’s right, you could say I’m a fan! 🤣
I have one set up with each of my most common bits. 1/8” roundover, top bearing, bottom bearing, chamfer, and a spiral bit. I have an edge guide that I keep on one of the bases that can be swapped onto any of them but it usually stays on the spiral bit. The easiest way to change bits is to just take the base off, it only takes a second and it makes it much easier to use the wrench and handle the bit. (#6 will probably just have whatever oddball bit I need at the time) I am looking forward to getting a plunge base to round out the fleet.
I agree that taking the base off to change bits is the way to go for 👍
I'm a DeWalt guy too! Have the corded version of this router, would be nice to go cordless! Guess I'll tell Santa!
If you wait until Black Friday both lowes and Home Depot (and other retailers I’m sure) have offered the deal where you buy a kit with a charger and batteries for $199 and you can get the router for free. Which is a really good deal because the bare tool router is normally over $200 itself. (Home Depot usually offers a 4AH and 6AH while the Lowes kit usually is two 5AH batteries)

You didn’t show me much. I am a newbie and need every detail and most of you guys have used routers so you don’t do step-by-step instructions.
This was not intended to be a "how to use a router" video. it is just a review of this brand and model.
