It was a chock for me at the first time. I already listened Derniere Dance and another one song by Diana in this show. But anyway it chocked me absolutely.

To pronounce correctly and it took me a while too is pronounced DeeAnna Ank coo DEEN ova. Just practice stressing the DEEN. It was a chock for me at the first time. I already listened Derniere Dance and another one song by Diana in this show. But anyway it chocked me absolutely.

в одном из комментариев правильно сказали - для средневекого русского крестьянина, точнее крестьянки, свадьба это не то, что она есть для нас, современных русских. Это было то, что этнографы называют обрядом перехода. Для 15-19 веков это именно был переход молодой девушки к иной жизни - от маменьки с тятенькой (вообще семьи) к новой жизни, где на мужнюю жена наваливались многие заботы и труд. Любые такие переходы (рождение, брак, смерть) в традиционных обществах обставлялись обрядами. На Руси их частью были песни, причем для брака - именно что печальные, "жалельные". Девушку перед свадьбой подружки прямо таки "отпевали". "Реченька" поэтому тоже относится к этому разряду - но так сказать с обременением, т.е. с фактом сиротства лирической героини (тоже частый мотив)

The two of them brought him out of retirement, and how could they not? When you see that talent, and you have over a billion dollars, you work for love.
It's just pick your mouth off the floor good and at 14yrs old to boot. Yodels, "r" trills, huge pitch swings, massive emotion, even spirits. And of course the contralto polyphonic 2x4 right in the face.

Whilst her voice is still maturing, and skills still developing, like Dimash, she understands that her voice, her talent is a vehicle to deliver the storyline of each piece and she inhabits the character fully, as she does this - beautifully. { The story of Rechenka, as I understand it, is based on an old Russian folk story, of a young woman about to marry who goes to the river and asks the spirits there to help her communicate with the spirit of her deceased mother, to obtain her mothers blessing for this match. }
Diana is an extraordinary young woman, and artist, who has not had an easy pathway to here. Not only did she have a very challenging beginning, but, I believe, her vocal coach, who had worked with her for a long time, including toward this performance, died of COVID before it went to air. This competition is called "You Are Super" and is specifically for disadvantaged children who did not grow up with one or both blood parents. Her adoptive mother entered her. She is an orphan about to be given away into a marriage she is dreading and goes to the river to seek her dead mother's blessing. As you know, Diana was an orphan, so it has a special meaning. Diana won that season of "You Are Super"...and was invited to participate the following year in the all star season for prior winners...she won that season also! As you've probably read from other comments, she is a dramatic contralto and really becomes part of the song!
So she won the two seasons at ages 14 and 15. She was only 14 when she sang this song. Perfect song, perfect voice, perfect artist! When she won this first season, the older gentleman judge, Igor Krutoy, is a famous composer/producer/billionaire in Russia who also promotes/produces Dimash's performances. Igor gave Diana an apartment in Moscow so she and her family didn't have to take a 12 hour train to get there each time and so she could get into local schools and university nearby to further her artistic development. There is a version that this song appeared before Christianity, and since early Christianity and paganism were closely intertwined, there are many versions of this song. It tells how an orphan girl comes to the river and prays to the spirits of nature. The song is about how my mother, father and brothers were killed by enemies, there is no one to take care of her. The river in Ancient Russia was considered the border between the world of the living and the dead. You hear an ominous whisper, it's the spirit of her late mother responding to the girl's crying.
There are about 30 variants of this song, but the content of each of the variants is based on the sad appeals of the orphan bride to her deceased parents, asking them for "blessings" and help for marriage, for family, to strangers.

To pronounce correctly and it took me a while too is pronounced DeeAnna Ank coo DEEN ova. Just practice stressing the DEEN. Also listening to her name being mentioned in some of her performances really helps. Getting there. Pretty much anything she sings is remarkable and goosebump producing.
