    I didn't really think much of these digital soldering irons into my best friend got me one as a gift and now I am completely sold. They are just amazing and I still have no idea how they get so much heat so quick out of these little pencil shaped things.

    Love all your videos, thank you for doing them! I know there was a change of work space, but I'm wondering if you are going to get back into making planes? Or even the "box planes"? As more of a maker than a consumer, those were my favorites.

    With what we've spent on Overflow/Reject Shop/etc junk irons we could easily have bought 1 (or more) of these decent portable units and a box of tips to complement our field hot glue gun. ;-)
    Many thanks also for the in-focus close-up of the manual. WAY more useful than all the jawflappin' and Italianate hand waving seen on other channels. 🙂

    Thanks for the review. I think there may be the Pro Kit in my future. You and Virginia stay safe.

    Awesome little things. I wish that they were around back when I was doing field service work. Beats the the old Guttering Iron..🤔...
    Do you have enough of them yet????

    Hello
    Can someone tell me why it shows firmware update when I put my other non origin 120w USB a to c cable in the soldering iron, is the a function that it goes to solder mode instead, with my origin cable it works normal,but I would like to have other options on cables beside the original. 🤔

    Thanks Andrew. In the market for a new soldering iron and your reviews are very helpful. Sorry to say, no interest in RC stuff etc.
    I'm in the UK and have no idea what to buy - Sequre, Minimate, QVDA etc. I would also like some more info on your power supply for this iron. There is a good supplier of the above brands in the UK, but sadly, they don't seem to do the newer or Pro models IE the MSS12 here has no mains input. Thanks again - Dave.

      Greetings Dave. All the Sequre irons I have used work very well but I do use the Sequre MSS12 almost every day. Otherwise I would use one of the other models with a ToolKit RC P200 power supply or a 4S LiPo.

    What is the difference between the sequre si012 and the pro, was it only the 2 different tip versions the longer and shorter that could be used or have the non pro this also?

    • @piosylant
      @piosylant ปีที่แล้ว

      The PRO version allows you to mount the T12 and TS100 tips without disassebling and changing the location of the contact pins.

    Is the longer or shorter tip better or does it even matter?

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Doesn't matter, just different manufacturers

    • @alexsicko
      @alexsicko ปีที่แล้ว +1

      actually it does matter, i made a video on my channel of real life performance of different stations (weller, jbc, metcal) against the pinecil/ts100. the ts100 doesn't read the temperature at the tip quite well, so when it hits 350 degrees, the power goes down. if i touch a big copper mass, the temp reading doesnt drop, which results in solder not melting. i've tested today the sequre SI012 with conical T12 tip and to my joy, it reads the temperature much better and does massive copper plane with 350 degrees which im more than happy about.

      @@4nlimited3dition_4n3d oh sorry, it was on private. Now it should work. But the video doesnt include the Sequre with TI12 tips, which i bought later that year. It was meant for pinecil to let them know the tips aren't good
