On my 2013 MacBook (running win7) it renders my old Canon 5D raw’s in almost real-time. Adjusting brightness is also very quick. It’s not on jpg level because it brings to light (no pun intended) the shadow areas appearing to have no information, so it must be drawing it out of the RAW data. It’s such a pain to go through the thousands of photos, waiting for them to render on Lightroom or Capture One, especially when all I’m trying to do is go through them to see what to keep/delete. This FastRawViewer is great for that middle step before going to CaptureOne. If this was an iOS app it would be awesome! It’s using very low resources so I think it’ll be at home on the iPad. Now that Apple has (finally!) enabled read/write access to external storage it’s totally possible.

I got 5x the speed as in this video while Lightroom still needs 4-5 seconds to render preview.
