Every bit of it was Kim Taehyung, aka BTS V and he also wrote the song. RM collaborated with him and also has writing credit. It is part of BTS discography, but as a solo song, as opposed to Blue & Gray, also written by Taehyung, which was performed as a group song. Taehyung has a very broad range and a lovely falsetto and can take on high tenor notes although he is a baritone. BTW, I agree with you from a previous video that too much compression was used on his voice. So much processing is unnecessary and seems to be a Kpop industry choice often used on deeper voices. ( I noticed the same thing used on Yoongi in the recent new release PTD) It really subtracts from the beauty of his natural voice because when V’s in good health, he generally sounds even better in performances than the recordings. the upper harmonies are all done by taehyung as well! he did mention working on broadening his range and maybe this was a testament to that. love how you pointed out the melancholy in the beginning of the song as well. the song was actually supposed to be sad (tae wrote it that way) but namjoon made him change it to a more optimistic tone. namjoon wanted tae to realise that change isn't always bad and that sometimes it's necessary and natural to happen. this was definitely a very personal song to tae and reflected his inner struggles and how he sees his current self compared to his younger, "brighter" self.
