I get my cats from a local animal rescue. The owner recommends Iams or Purina. My vet asked me which food I feed them and I told her Iams. She approved and said Purina was also a good choice.

What I like about Iams is that is available in 10Kg bags and that bulk discount makes for great value for money. With aditional discounts from the online store my furry friends are eating Iams kibble for less than €3/Kg.

I have been feeding my cats Purina One for years. and my cat Sammy was 21 years old. The cat Liese is now about 14 years old and in great shape. Although I have fed Purina One dry food for years (in addition to wet food, of course), I strongly advise against brands produced by Mars, Proctor & Gamble, etc. Would you recommend Snickers, Milky Way, or similar to those around you? probably just because it tastes good, but not because of the health aspect.. think about it!

Interesting video. Cats get 80% of their moisture requirements from their food. Wet food or homemade is a much better choice. Dry food is also high in carbohydrates, which cats don't need. "All Life Stages" means the nutrient levels of calcium, phosphorus and sodium are too high for cats 7 and older. This leads to kidney problems. Cats need taurine, which only comes from animal muscle meat. Purina is 31% carbs. It's first ingredients are: Chicken By-Product Meal, Ground Yellow Corn, Corn Gluten Meal, Whole Grain Wheat, Rice, Soy Flour. All dry food is produced using a process called extrusion. The FDA considers extruded food a rendered product. "By-products" can be anything, even rendered waste.

I feed my 2 cats Iams dry. I bought them a kitty water fountain and they both like it and drink a lot of water from it., But of course they drank a lot of water from the dish before I bought the fountain. Wet only cat food will not keep their teeth as clean as dry so your old kitties will probably be toothless sooner. Ask your vet. Next time you're at the store, compare ingredient lists and you will see it depends on the brand and not whether it is wet or dry that have the most carbohydrates. My Iams is 32% protein and contains taurine. It contains no wheat, rice or soy flour. The first ingredient listed is chicken. They both also make a different blend for overweight or older cats. Did you watch the video?

@@soberpickle8195 People should feed their cats whatever they feel is best. Small, raw meaty bones and chicken gizzards are the best for cleaning teeth. Cats are designed to process organic nutrients and minerals found in fresh meat. Cats require taurine but cannot make it, as dogs can. Taurine only comes from animal muscle meat. Any other source is synthetic. Organic calcium and phosphorus, found in real food, is not bioavailable in cats. So I don't have to worry about too high a level. Iams is one of the better commercial cat foods for calcium and phosphorus levels. So you are doing well with those. Dry cat food is high in carbohydrates, which cats don't need at all. As long as you watch your cats' weight, they should be ok.

It’s good to have a decent quality dry food for them to snack on during the day. Dry shouldn’t be the only thing in their diet. It’s just a video comparing the two brands. My cats love eating their dry food during the day and it is essential for them (as my vet said) they’re kittens. Maybe that’s why. But they get wet food everyday as their main meals

Also to note…I had a cat for 20 years and the vet specifically told me to take her off wet food and give her dry only 🤷‍♀️
So it really depends. Not everything you read or hear on the internet is true. Dry food is fine if they have a sufficient water source at all times.

Both brands are not good for cats.
