I grow up in Liverton Mines and went to Harry Dack infants, then Junior and Senior. Moving to Redcar when I was 15. I didn't want to leave the area as unquestionably the Loftus, Brotton, Skelton citizens are without a doubt solid people. I still keep in touch with my former school pals. I now live in Saltburn and even when the weather is perfect, the are. The local community and shops in all the areas I've mentioned are friendly and reliable. I'd never criticise the places that I've lived and played.
Loftus is a dump and so are Skelton and Brotton. Guisborough is a dump underneath. Pretty much anywhere in and around Middlesborough, and Redcar and Cleveland is sad place to live. I lived in Redcar, Saltburn and I lived in Guisborough which I believe is classed as North Yorkshire. There are no jobs and no shops, no industry. Saltburn is a beautiful place in the summer but there's sod all there for locals, never mind tourists. I'm so glad I moved to the South West.
That's your opinion. I holidayed in Cornwall and I am familiar with the South West and give me North Yorkshire any day of the week. The countryside and coast are far prettier, the locals friendlier and you don't get ripped off wherever you go. House prices are sensible and there is plenty of work if you look for it. Are you from North Yorkshire? If so you should be deeply ashamed of yourself. Loftus and the surrounding area is lovely.
What a load of rubbish. Loftus is a small, rural, North East coastal town that, admittedly, has similar economic issues to other small towns up and down this country. But, notwithstanding that, it is a beautiful town and the people are the soundest folks you could hope to meet. I originally came from this area and, in my late twenties, moved to York. Having lived there for over 25 years, we decided to move back to the area and Loftus is where we pointedly chose live. Best decision I ever made.
