No we don’t. This movie goes against the lore to pander to a generic strong woman story without respect the Tolkien lore. Normal audiences won’t go watch this because of word of mouth and 2 masses don’t watch anime.

I prefer to be cautious about the film. I don't love what I've seen so far, I think the characters, the style and the direction looks a bit uninspired and generic. But we'll see. As long as it doesn't feel pretentious, I'm in. About the song I think it's fabulous.
People are like 'they're changing too much' well Tolkien wrote very little on this conflict, so this film can fill the gaps and create an actual story from his notes. It look okay, thought I'm thinking this brilliant song will be the best thing in it! Paris is fantastic. 🎶
We just suffered through 2 seasons of RoP, where, while Tolkien may not have written full novels on the subject, they managed to systematically invert every piece he did write and do the complete opposite. Then we have this not being about Helm or his sons and filling in their stories, but what looks like instead another girl boss trope, weird stuff like Haradrim and Watchers in the Water... Yeah, hackles raised. This dog has been abused by hollyweird too many times not to be wary.

I like the song but not sure its LotR though. Its very modern epic fantasy music but it doesnt have the ancient feel to it or the poetry of other LotR songs. Eowyn singing Theodreds lament and this song wouldnt go together at all. I think for the anime it will fit but it doesnt mesh with earlier works by any means.
