For anyone that doesn't know, the little pixel character is Naruto's JP VA and the character he's with is Sasuke's JP VA. So definitely a deliberate choice there and they will probably have some fun interactions.
It is a detailed and in-depth explanation of the greatest trailer ever released. I am happy to have an expert who spoke about the ost. It is captivating
The place is based on the ring of fire more or less with each tribe representing a different region probably. We don't really know which character belongs to which region yet aside from their names which are Latin America, pre Columbian and Natlan is basically a mix of a lot of regions like Sumeru and Fontaine
Am I the only one who is reminded to that one Mayan ball game by this trailer? It was a ball game with ritualistic associactions, and the losing team was sacrificed at the end of the match (most Mesoamerican cultures had a variation of this game, Pok-a-Tok, and it was played with a solid rubber ball). I made the associacion because this is a tournament, and Natlan was introduced by this line in the Teyvat chapter overwiev: The victor shall burn bright, the loosers will turn to ash." This would also explain why the Pyro archon asks Capitano if he's brave enough to compete (implying that the looser can loose much more than just the match) This also explain why the characters featured in the trailer all pass on competing, and throwing the ball as hot potato just as soon as they caught it. I don't claim that in Genshin the people who loose will be sacrificed. I just say that regarding where Hoyo took inspiration (Mesoamerican cultures) there is a huge possibility of someone/prob the looser dying by the end of the AQ. (Pyro archon even said that with our blood we will craft our true fate)
pretty sure its "ignition" because that's what starts a fire, and this teaser is the start of the fire nation of genshin. (the character is not called ignition, she's called Mavuika)
@user-dj2ic2xv9r There is a name that I am almost sure looks Hawaiian "Mualani". As a New Zealander with both Maori and Moriori ancestry I didn't recognize any of the names to be Maori or Moriori, But I think would be cool to see if any future characters use them.
@@arthuserza2696 iirc the name Mavuika (pyro archon) is meant to be Maōri as a reference to Mahuika, a Maōri fire deity I could be wrong but that’s what I heard from others
@@-Theo- Oh I see. Well if thats the case I can see how people have made the connection now. I was mislead by letter "v" because there is no letter "v" in the Maori language both in oral and written forms. There is a chance the name Mavuika could be from one of the other pacific islands for Mahuika. Because, almost all the islands in the pacfic (Polynesian, Melansian, Micronesian) have similar mythology especially when they talk about Maui and his connections with the different gods. My Dad always says that the islands are all family because we all belong to "Te Moana nui a kiwa" The big ocean that joins, provides and sustains us. Oooh i was thinking what you might say to this trailer when I was watching it! Also, you were asking about how many regions are left. A kachina can represent anything in the natural world or cosmos, from a revered ancestor to an element, a location, a quality, a natural phenomenon, or a concept; there may be kachinas for the sun, stars, thunderstorms, wind, corn, insects, as well as many other concepts. - Kinich Ahau (Different spelling for Ajaw, so both dendro boy and his pixel dragon are a reference to this one god) is the 16th-century Yucatec name of the Maya sun god, designated as God G when referring to the codices. In the Classic period, God G is depicted as a middle-aged man with an aquiline nose, large square eyes, cross-eyed, and a filed incisor in the upper row of teeth. Usually, there is a k'in ('sun')-infix, sometimes in the very eyes. Among the southern Lacandons, Kinich Ahau continued to play a role in narrative well into the second half of the twentieth century. Kinich Ahau is the Yucatec and Lacandon name of the sun god. The element kʼinich, usually assumed to mean 'sun-eyed', appears to have been in general use as a royal title during the Classic Period. - (For Citlali) Citlālicue[a] ("star garment"), also Citlālinicue and Ilamātēcuhtli, was a creator goddess in Aztec mythology. She created the stars with her husband Citlalatonac, the Milky Way, Earth, death, and darkness. This pair of gods are sometimes associated with the first pair of humans, Nata and Nena. In tōnalpōhualli, Citlālicue is the Lord of the Day for days that land on the 13th of the month (Nahuatl: mahtlactli-omei). - In Aztec mythology, Chicōmecōātl [t͡ʃikoːmeˈkoːaːt͡ɬ] "Seven Serpent", was the Aztec goddess of agriculture during the Middle Culture period. She is sometimes called "goddess of nourishment", a goddess of plenty and the female aspect of maize. She is regarded as the female counterpart of the maize god Centeōtl, their symbol being an ear of corn. She is occasionally called Xilonen (meaning doll made of corn), who was married also to Tezcatlipoca. More generally, Chicōmecōātl can be described as a deity of food, drink, and human livelihood. - Ọya (Yorùbá: Ọya, also known as Oyá or Oiá; Yàńsàn-án or Yansã; and Iansá or Iansã in Latin America) is an Orisha of winds, lightning, and violent storms. As a river deity she is also regarded as a deity of children, able to provide children to her devotees or those who come to her banks at the Niger river. - Chasca Incan Goddess is a fascinating figure in Incan mythology, revered for her power and beauty. As the goddess of dawn and twilight, Chasca holds sway over the weather and protects young maidens. She is also associated with regeneration and the transformation of negative energies into positive ones. - (For Mavuika) Mahuika is a Māori fire deity. Generally, Mahuika is female and wife of the god Auahitūroa. In some versions, she is the younger sister of Hine-nui-te-pō, goddess of death. It was from her that Māui (in some versions he is her grandson) obtained the secret of making fire. She married Auahitūroa and together they had five children, named for the five fingers on the human hand, called collectively Ngā Mānawa. The symbolism of this connection between toropuku (fingers) and fire is revealed in the stories where Māui obtains fire from Mahuika by tricking her into giving him her fingernails one by one. - Olorun (Yoruba alphabet: Ọlọrun) is the ruler of (or in) the Heavens in the Yoruba religion. The Supreme Deity or Supreme Being in the Yoruba pantheon, Olorun is also called Olodumare (Yoruba alphabet: Olódùmarè), Eledumare and Eleduwa/Eledua. In Yoruba culture, Ọlọrun is credited with creating the universe and all living things. Ọlọrun is frequently perceived as a compassionate entity who protects its creations and is thought to be omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. Humans do not worship Olorun directly; there are no sacred areas of worship, no iconography, nor ordained person. Olorun is outlying, distant, and does not partake in human rituals. There are no shrines or sacrifices dedicated directly to them, although followers can send prayers in their direction.
Mavuika might be a reference to Mahuika, who is the maori goddess of fire, younger sister of the goddess of death. We might be in for another good ol' switcheroo perhaps.
Hi I just want to point out: Xilonen is a leopard, not a jaguar, you can see this by the fact the rosettes on her tail do NOT have spots inside them. A jaguar would have spots inside the rosettes. Just a fun fact.
The longer we wait for Natlan, the bigger the hype becomes As for characters, mualani is the blue girl, with Kachina the short girl next to her,Kinich (seemingly fan favorite) green boy, then there’s Citlali, throwing the ball to Xilonen, bouncing off of Iansan (a character we’ve known since the near beginning of the game),Chasca, and finally our presumed pyro archon Mavuika, and Ororon next to Capitano of the fatui Seems like Natlan might be some sort of tournament arc.sort of reminds me of warrior cats of all things? Super excited for the (likely) third to last nation.pulling for Kinich,he took my heart at first sight like many others
I cannot put into words how much i look forward to Natlan. The Characters, the Music, the Location. It is all so wonderful. Especially the part of the music when the pyro Archon is shown, it gives me goosebumps so hard. I think many people, are rightfully so, excited for the new story and characters with each new chapter. But for quite some time, i think to myself, "how will hoyo-mix blow me away this time?" with each new area. ❤❤
Hello @PhilipHarts. A small pieces of info: -The red hair girl (Mavuika) its the Pyro Anchor. In addition, her design its a "only a little similar" with Himeko of Honkai Impact 3rd (I bet you remember her from the video "The Final Lesson"). -The seiyus in japanese of the guy from the start and the thing with he are the seiyus of Sasuke and Naruto respectly (Its obvious that was a deliberate election XD). -The big man who the archon asks if he will participate in the tournament is Capitano, one of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, who we saw in the "A Winter Night's Lazzo" trailer (before Sumeru). -The character whose head is hit by the ball is the one we saw in the first Genshin trailer (Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview: Travail). Now, talking about the trailer itself... -Great work with the music to emphasize certain moments. -It is interesting how in the scene at min 2:55 you can see how every time the archon takes a step the ground lights up. Maybe I'm just rambling, but if we add to the above the tone of mystery of that scene and the dialogues, I personally feel like it was the metaphor of "a light breaking through the darkness." -About what you mention at 18:30, I also thought it was talking to us, but it seems more like it's talking to what appear to be burning tribal symbols (or whatever they represent in the story). Regards ^^
Natlan meant to be a nation of tribes and war. So my guess is that ball is to call all the tribes together for the battle to see which tribe is the strongest. As the girl said in the tree "It's that time of year again". The big guy is Il Capitano is one of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers
GOATHIMTANO THE ALLMIGHTY CAPTAIN, THE 1ST OF FATUI HARBINGERS, THE STRONGEST, APEX OF STRENGTH, ABSOLUTE STRONGEST, HUMAN OF STEEL CHALLENGING GODS, FEARLESS AND INVINCIBLE MEAT GRINDER. HIM,THE GOAT.YALL AREN'T READY FOR HIM
12:57 "It feels like the end of a journey, like looking back on everything you did" ...that's a very interesting point of view you got there, right when they're introducing her. I wonder what the Honkai Impact 3 part of the genshin fanbase has to say about it 🥲
I believe is Mayan background (or a mix of latin american cultures), the visions look like that too. Ignition I think is because it is the Nation of Fire. The Pyro Archon is supposedly to be dead, But Arcons have no visions, and I haven't seen her with one (in the teaser), but also could be a pyro dragon too (like Neuvillette; in another teaser you can see a dragon.). I think that big guy is Capitano, one of the 11 Harbingers (or just one high ranked Fatui). One thing is for sure I'm so excited for this new region. Still remaining (I'm a bit old and my memory can be affected by that): Snezhnaya (Cryo) region, Khaenri'ah and Celestia.
My favorite part of a new animation being released is watching your reaction to it. It’s so cool being able to decode so much through visual storytelling despite no context lol
So we dont know exactly but everything tells that it is based in the pacific ring of fire and all the different tribes that live in it, that makes sense, since all the the characters seem to have names from different tribes, like Australia, Mexico and more
Love me tournaments arcs a lot, one I always remember is Fairy Tail’s I think they nailed it. And as per usual something will happen, the tournaments won’t finish smoothly ofc they won’t. One thing I like the tournament arc actually being part of the Archon quest, is that it won’t be like a smaller scale event like the interdarshan championship which was great but I felt, ever since we knew about the 6 tribes that a similar event would happen for Natlan. Being part of the main story tho, it makes it different and fresh enough for me, like obviously the implications here are bigger
She was speaking to the Primal Flame in the end, basically the origin of the Pyro Archons powers and symbolization of all of Natlans 6 Tribes, which are avatarized by Xbalanque, the Pyro Sovereign to which Mavuika spoke at the end - thats at least my impression of that scene to whom she spoke in the end, because Xbalanque was the Pyro Archon BEFORE of her, and my thought of the "Ode of Ressourrection" is, that this Tournaments ulterior motive is to gain some form of energy/ressource from the collected "Fighting Spirit" combatants in the Tournament will "emit", which is somethign needed in Natlan in order to form some kind of Resurrection Ritual with that the Pyro Archon wants to revive somebody - but who and wherefore, thats unclear...the Fatui see in this eventually a chance to revive/rebirth Signora - thats at least what many other players surely are hoping here :D we will see... Personally I hope for it, that this Tournament Art becomes some great epic by Hunger Games inspired (Tributes of Panem), which were epic and wonderful movies with great actorsabout some form of Tournament, that burned itself from the very first minute into our all memories forever, and I think it woudl be just a great inspirational hommage to these movies, ifGenshin Impact would have some kind of similar style tournament in Natlan, which gets turned then also into some form of cool new Endgame PvP Mode with dedicated PvP Skill Sets for that game Mode :3 that would be so damn awesome, if Natlan doesn't add just only Mounts as feature into the game, but also PvP Combat in a way, that it works balanced for everybody, so that Whale Players dont have any P2W advantages, because whoever participates in that new mode, is all the samne, everybody using the same builds - nobody beign able to be more powerful than others, by spending multiple thousands of dollars into their accounts,, over players, which dont do that. Then this kind of PvP on genshin easily coudl become a very great success for the game, which will definetely revitalize Genshin and would set the benchmark for all other competitive Gacha Games - especially Wuthering Waves now, if Genshin becomes the first big Gacha Game worldwide, that offers a dedicated balanced PvP Mode.

Your explanation is basically pretty good except for the section with the PvP stuff. The game is not a comeback game and never has been! There is the fighting aspect but that is not the focus of the game! Why have many players not yet understood that the game is a casual game? Accordingly, it is mainly aimed at casual gamers and not combat disciples, I don't understand that! I am glad that there is no PvP in Genshin Impact! Because this would simply be a mechanism that would cause unnecessary twists between the players. And besides, you should have realized by now that combat is not particularly relevant or important for Hoyo in the game, otherwise they would have already established many more different modes in this area! If they had placed any value or focus on it. So if you mean something like PvP like hide and seek, then yes, because that would be a different matter, but combat-moderate PvP, no thanks!
We don't know if Xbalanque is the Pyro Sovereign. Since when they introduced Neuvillette, they didn't include themselves along with Neuvillette. Calling the Sovereigns they as im Xbalanque isn't one of them.
Unfortunately, agian we see whitewashing of characters based off regions that have PoC. She is Latin American themed, with her name deriving from the Azteca culture. The more Genshin evolves, unfortunately it drives me away from the game more and more. Its a shame to see PoC themes in this game but not the people. And when you do that, you are profiting off of a culture without including the people of the culture
There's at least 2 more areas after Natlan. Snezhnaya and Khaenri'ah. Maybe even Celestia after but it wasn't confirmed officially so I won't count it yet.

Hello! The description of that video had some information, including character names, but I don’t mind sharing what I know.
For starters, Natlan seems to be based off the ring of fire, so it takes inspiration from all over
Characters:
Mualani (Hydro) - she seems to inspired by Polynesia or maybe Australia. She rode a shark in the former teaser
Kachina (Geo) - Animal features, she rode a drill in the former teaser, probably a “Child of Echoes” a name for Natlanians from the mining tribe
Kinich (Dendro - possibly claymore) - also from former teaser
K’uhul Ajaw (?) - the 2-D dino… thing? He is a “self-proclaimed almighty dragonlord”
Citlali (Cryo) - Shares a VA with March 7th
Xilonen (Geo) - Maybe a jaguar hybrid
Iansan (? Maybe pyro or geo) - from the travail trailer, similar appearance and curse of bad luck to Bennett
Chasca (I believe cryo, maybe anemo) - worth mentioning: she looks like a parrot
Mavuika (obviously pyro) - Most probable candidate for archon
Il Capitano / The Captain (?) - Rank 1 of the Fatui Harbingers, known in Tevyat as the “strongest human”
Ororon (?) - Standing beside Capitano. Hoyoverse probably purposely hid him, so we should watch out for that
At the end, Mavuika is probably seeing the Primal Flame. Most likely, she’s talking to either Xbalanque (“One Entombed with Primal Fire” from Neuvillette’s drip-marketing quote) or the Pyro Sovereign (the original elemental dragon). Of course, Xbalanque could be the Pyro Sovereign, so that’s something to consider.
The six flames represent the six tribes of Natlan, evidenced by the symbols of the flames.
If I were to guess, Mavuika asks the traveler if they “got all that,” but she’s talking to someone else when she says to close their eyes.
She also talks about fate, which is a big deal to Genshin’s story. A lot of nations/characters/organizations (like Fontaine, Remuria, Rene, the Tsaritsa, Abyss Order, etc.) are trying to stop, rewrite, and/or disconnect from their fate. It’s worth remembering since Mavuika mentions it twice.
If anyone else has something to add, feel free to tell me! I know I’m missing a few things (like any additional info on characters we might have or visions I missed)
Plus, K’uhul Ajaw is probably the Guoba to Kinich's Xiangling.

When we cut back to Chasca later in the trailer, she has a cryo vision
Hi I just want to point out: Xilonen is a leopard, not a jaguar, you can see this by the fact the rosettes on her tail do NOT have spots inside them. A jaguar would have spots inside the rosettes. Just a fun fact.
The longer we wait for Natlan, the bigger the hype becomes
As for characters, mualani is the blue girl, with Kachina the short girl next to her,Kinich (seemingly fan favorite) green boy, then there’s Citlali, throwing the ball to Xilonen, bouncing off of Iansan (a character we’ve known since the near beginning of the game),Chasca, and finally our presumed pyro archon Mavuika, and Ororon next to Capitano of the fatui
Seems like Natlan might be some sort of tournament arc.sort of reminds me of warrior cats of all things? Super excited for the (likely) third to last nation.pulling for Kinich,he took my heart at first sight like many others
did they really spell it Citlali instead of the traditional Xitlali???
I cannot put into words how much i look forward to Natlan. The Characters, the Music, the Location. It is all so wonderful.
Especially the part of the music when the pyro Archon is shown, it gives me goosebumps so hard.
I think many people, are rightfully so, excited for the new story and characters with each new chapter. But for quite some time, i think to myself, "how will hoyo-mix blow me away this time?" with each new area. ❤❤
GOATHIMTANO "HMPH" >>>> TRAILER SO PEAK, SO BADASS, WHAT AN AURA
18:09 sounds so familiar that its driving me crazy...
first thought was "Three Lions (Football's Coming Home)" but that wasnt it
mfg

Hello @PhilipHarts. A small pieces of info:
-The red hair girl (Mavuika) its the Pyro Anchor.
Maybe I'm just rambling, but if we add to the above the tone of mystery of that scene and the dialogues, I personally feel like it was the metaphor of "a light breaking through the darkness."
-About what you mention at 18:30, I also thought it was talking to us, but it seems more like it's talking to what appear to be burning tribal symbols (or whatever they represent in the story).
Regards ^^
every teaser or trailer or whatever released by hoyoverse I came here to see your analysis ♥
can't wait to cosplay one of these characters i love their designs so much!!
Natlan meant to be a nation of tribes and war. So my guess is that ball is to call all the tribes together for the battle to see which tribe is the strongest. As the girl said in the tree "It's that time of year again".
The big guy is Il Capitano is one of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers
9:20 what’s even better about this, is that this character has been teased for years and all we get is a one frame of them 😂
This taking place close to the Olympics is kinda iconic
Literally the most hyped teaser since Winter Night Lazzo. Really love the soundtrack as well
GOATHIMTANO THE ALLMIGHTY CAPTAIN, THE 1ST OF FATUI HARBINGERS, THE STRONGEST, APEX OF STRENGTH, ABSOLUTE STRONGEST, HUMAN OF STEEL CHALLENGING GODS, FEARLESS AND INVINCIBLE MEAT GRINDER.
HIM,THE GOAT.YALL AREN'T READY FOR HIM
12:57 "It feels like the end of a journey, like looking back on everything you did" ...that's a very interesting point of view you got there, right when they're introducing her. I wonder what the Honkai Impact 3 part of the genshin fanbase has to say about it 🥲
CAPITANO OUR GOAT THE STRONGEST
It's based on Ring of fire (what's actually funny for Pyro region)
Mauvika almost here can't wait.
the tournament arc giving off pokemon league vibe.
So it opens... The Incandescent Ring of War, Natlan! =D
"sydney opera house" THAT'S SO REAL
Really blazing 🔥 Let's go Natlan!!
Dark tournament for sure..childhood memories
There is at the very least, still the nation of the Cyro Archon, after Natlan.
Probably its Himeko (HI3rd) genshin version, as the pyro archon. And the fire at the end the Pyro sovereign inside the primordial fire 🔥
The latter is a theory, for which there is very little evidence.
My favorite part of a new animation being released is watching your reaction to it. It’s so cool being able to decode so much through visual storytelling despite no context lol
So we dont know exactly but everything tells that it is based in the pacific ring of fire and all the different tribes that live in it, that makes sense, since all the the characters seem to have names from different tribes, like Australia, Mexico and more
Natlan seems to be inspired by the ring of fire area
I still like Fontaine trailer more, but this take 2nd place.
Yes. KoF invites fighter with letters.
20:01 probably because it happen every years
Wonder if he watched the trevail trailer
9:15 geo - power of stone
Xilonen is my new favorite character. All my primos are saved for her
Favorite tournament arc in anime: fairy tail
NATLAN 🔥🔥🔥
nice
Yu Yu Hakusho. Dark Tournament Arc. Easy.
Fun fact for genshin players! Mavuika and zhonglis VAs are married!
Their Japanese va’s are married.
I just wish the characters were darker considering Natlan has West African references in it.
BALLS
i like your voice
Sadly I am have a hard time seeing anything other than Genshin Pokemon... with a Leather Mommy Dom Archon.
Also West Africa is in Natlan
@@keorishalashaka2064 thanks for the correction.
Wow, incredibly disappointing.
Latin America doesn't have a color North Americans need to understand this
Well, most Chinese ppl don't look like those Liyue ppl. It's fiction. Whitewash what?
There's at least 2 more areas after Natlan. Snezhnaya and Khaenri'ah. Maybe even Celestia after but it wasn't confirmed officially so I won't count it yet.
