I have a theory is that joyboy was so powerful that he could control anything with his imagination because he has the gomu gomu no mi but the thing is he knew that he could imagin anything that he could then bring too reailty but luffy being luffy he still thinks he ate the gomu gomu no mi so he still thinks he can only do rubber powers making him too only make rubber moves
