Ah Lionel Groulx! I know it well, the western connection of the orange and green lines. Hop off the orange to the eastbound green (direction Honore-Beaugrand) to exit at Atwater to visit the old Forum. The Forum used to make Atwater the busiest station in the city.
Wait, isn't this pretty common? I think I saw this the other day, the Azur train, the Orange line regular one (The one with the screen telling you the next stop) and the Green line's regular one, (One without the screen and different seat layout) I know they moved some orange line trains to the green line though.
63's are more round at the edges, they have headlights that are side by side, where 73s are next to each other. Driver door opens both sides on 73, but only on 1 side on 63s, the 63 are louder and 73 have vents under the side windows. 63s don't have them.
The MR73 start-up tones are the same as the opening notes of Aaron Copland's "Fanfare for the Common man". There are actually 5 tones, but only those 3 are audible. Those tones were also adopted for the door-closing chimes. MR73 headlights and taillights are stacked.
They were supposed to start moving the 73s onto the green line, replacing the old 63s, but it's not really happening... I've only seen the MR-73 once on the green line. Rode it about two weeks ago, from Guy-Concordia to Lionel Groulx after work. Didn't seem to work correctly, most of the lighting inside was off. I guess it's not fully compatible with the green line's infrastructure? Not enough juice in the third rail? Must be why I've never seen them try that again...
+Wojciech Sawicki actually no. There are at least four MR-73s running on the green line every day. I have ridden them dozens of time. That light failure was a power problem with that train itself. It happens on the Orange line too. The trains are 100% compatible. Even the Dot Matrix display has been updated to display the Green line stations :)
Heh, I guess it's just my lousy luck that I always end up on the breezy 63s, then :D I really dislike the mesh doors on the old trains... way too noisy in there :)
+Sean G sure! I'd love to meet up. Glad to know you are a train fan. I love trains. By the way, we created a brand new and very first G+ community for fans of the montreal Metro. I miss the three tone door signal
Nice
I went to this metro station earlier and saw 4 azur trains and filmed it
nice, Masha’Allah!
@@NazmusLabs happened again today where there where 4 azur trains
That really is rare
Yeah, I was just recording with no particular reason, only to see this happen. Thanks for commenting!

Amazing catch and video! Badly I didn't had the chance to catch it before the MR-63 were retired... 😢
J'aime beaucoup ton vidéo :) Et le métro également! :)
Merci! Vous habitez au France?
Non, je suis Québécois et j'habite cette belle ville de Montréal! :)
LeGentleman1984 C'est incroyable! :D
If only.... the Jeumont pulled into the Angrignon platform alongside the Azur, MR-63 and MR-73 in the first clip.
That'd be something...
+The Dark Boss OMG that'd be AWESOME. Sadly, one jeumont is retired while the other is on its last breath.
I hope to God the last Jeumont is still in sevice when I visit Montreal later this year.
The Jeumont train - which one site unofficially classed MR71, for the year it was modified - can run only between 2 other MR63 elements.
Imagin If that last Mr63 that operated on all of the lines was a jeumomt
I,agile if the last mr63 was with the jeumont in this. Idea at Lionel group metro station
Cool make more videos about dis.

How can you tell the 63s and the 73s apart from each other?
BNYWTrains good question! Video idea! If you are interested, I'll do. Video for you then, Insh'Allah (God Willing) 🙃🙃
NazmusLabs I think it'd be a good topic. I'm heading up from Maine in a couple of weeks and want to know so I won't make mistakes in my videos.

Hey, really cool video!
A truly amazing sight.

+Wojciech Sawicki i hate the MR-63 with a passion :P
I really like the sound of MR-63, This is original
Lionel Groulx is awesome! I'm kinda disappointed in Berri-UQAM. Maybe when they are done renovations, it will look nicer, and be easier to traverse.
Yeah, I am excited to see how it'll look after the renovations. It's already starting to look better
Thank you for sharing!!!
Thanks for watching! Would love it if you subscribed!
Wow, I know Azur is more on the orange line now
