I love Christmas movies too!🎄 I watched Last Christmas (2019) with my sister last night. It was set in London, so I had a bit of a London Christmas too.😁 The movie was fun, with great music by George Michael, but the story itself didn't have what it takes to become a Christmas classic. My favourite Christmas movie of all time is Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel (1973), the absolute Christmas classic in CH, D & AT. It's shown on TV several times at Christmas. Although I know it by heart, I watch it every year. (Is it also known in Italy?) It's an emancipated version of the Cinderella story, set in winter. She has her own horse, cross-dresses as a man, goes hunting, etc. A very progressive image of a woman in a 1973 fairy tale film. Certainly not the damsel in distress! (I would even go so far as to say that this movie had a major impact on how I view women.👩🚀)

For some reason I've never been drawn to Last Christmas so your review will do 😜 this year here in Italy they are showing a lot of Xmas films we've never seen before (same storyline, though 😜). As for 'Drei haselnüsse für aschenbrödel', I've looked it up and I don't think I've ever seen it or that it's famous in Italy, but when it comes to traditions like these, I may be wrong 🤣
Here I am, dear Sam!. Well, Xmas for me is really important, because of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ (Yeah, I'm a catholic..... and I've also a degree in theology), so it's great for me to go to the Mass of the evening. What I remember about Xmas (I can't remember everything about those Xmases, actually, because I was a little boy) is that we travelled to the mountains (we were based mainly in Monguelfo, if I remember).

I might be wrong but from the way you wrote about being Catholic I detect a bit of hesitation in 'admitting' it: don't worry at all as I find it absolutely beautiful when people are religious. I know nowadays it's almost social suicide to say you believe in God, but don't worry about saying it on my channel 😊 in fact, now that I know you are a staunch believer, I'd love to know what you think about my video about religion if you ever fancy watching it 🤩😍

And,.... well,.... let me tell you that is wrong to read the Bible litterally, because you should read it how the Church reads it; and if you read it litterally, your faith may get serious damages. So first of all, those 'punishments', may turn out to be actual blessings.

I just don't care any more - life's become quite profane lately. 😄 But no need to feel sorry for me, I'm fine anyway! I remember that I used to enjoy Christmas when I was your age and my mom was still alive and there was family to meet. These days I'm glad to escape crowded Christmas markets and to avoid the devastating effect of excessive Christmas shopping on my bank account. 😆 Sorry for being a killjoy here!

I often think about how I'll feel about Christmas when my mum passes away and I'm terrified I won't be able to enjoy it anymore as it will bring back a lot of memories of us together 😔 As for money, luckily, we don't spend much time or money on presents for friends and family despite how much we love Christmas 🙊😜
