MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is a common imaging test used to give medical professionals a closer look at organs or structures inside the body. The images are created using magnetic and radio waves.
In 1985, Nicklaus Children's Hospital installed the first MRI unit in the city of Miami, and was the first MRI facility in the United States dedicated to pediatrics. In 1998, the hospital became the first MRI unit in Miami to offer functional MRIs or fMRI. The Radiology Department of Nicklaus Children's Hospital is the largest provider of pediatric MRI services in south Florida.

I been a MRI tech for 4 years! If you have high anxiety I have a few tips for you! Bring a friend or family member to come in room with you! Ask if they have music for you to listen while getting scanned, cover your eyes with a wash cloth or ask your doctor for a sedative before you schedule the test. Also ask the tech to give you a count down during the scan. Ask them to talk to you every 3 minutes. This really helps.Remember breathe normal. Pretend you are going to sleep or think about a fun time and just focus on that. Avoid caffeine. The tech will always give you a emergency call button if you have to come out. Ask if you can take a look at the machine before the scan. If this fails , look for a open mri in your area.

I'm really nervous, I'm getting a mri scan in a few hours for my brain. I've been getting lots of Headaches and mingranes. But I've been watching mri videos and I'm starting to get less nervous

I’ve had one done before on my head due to constant migraines and my experience was very good, It was at night so I was tired and I was able to go to sleep with music playing. Pretty cool honestly.

I was shivering in cold despite having 2 crappy blankets and 2 pairs of ear plugs that was supposed to help. I got scolded by my mom cuz I moved(I WAS COLD OK, ASIAN MOM!). I had to retake that crap. I was so pissed like bruh. The worst thing is that the hospital I was admitted to was a Children’s hospital and they had no children things provided. Now wtf?

you can’t have one as the MRI machine will rip the metal implant from your body due to its magnetic strength/ force.

MrUranium235 yes, i know it’s for children, it doesn’t affect the way it is made. if you have metal in your bones, the magnet will more than likely rip out the metal. either way, they wouldn’t go forward with the scan if they knew you have metal in your bones. do research.
