I don't know about Hong Kong's escalators, our escalators (Moscow metro) moves 75 cm per second (37,5 cm up or down per second), these escalators don't look like faster ones. The station isn't very deep, i think, it's about 30-40 meters (i live in a city with more than 50 metro stations in depth between 40 and 75 meters, so 30-40 meters isn't deep for me). The only problem, which i see here - too long walking with many short escalators, it's much better to use one long escalator! I think, they tried to combine transfers and exits. We have some stations with the same design, but without so long walking, anyway, they aren't very convenient.
@@NeytiriMD The HKU station on the Island Land is the deepest. It lies 100m under the ground. The South Island Line Platform in Admiralty only lies 43m under the ground.
