The Black Bear March is the traditional call back to barracks for all soldiers off base for the night. It is the piper’s of equivalent of the Last Post, and hopefully it will be played at my own funeral after Highland Cathedral.

Can anyone tell me if the pipers and drummers have to take it in turns as who has to march down the Castlehill for the tourists at the Lawnmarket? There seems to be men from different regiments. Is it a case of who gets the short straw as I'm sure the rest are already in the barracks with their feet up and a dram in their hands.

It's at the end of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo the mass pipes and drums are the last to march of the parade square and down the Royal mile. The tunes played are traditional and called "The tunes of Glory"
