mclaren f1 despite it's price tag age and lack of modern technology people still drive them because if your light on the throttle it can get 20miles to the gallon it is extremely durable and has low maintenance costs built in because it has easily removable panels for almost every purpose the engine is easily accesible from multiple angles the suspention has less parts and weight because it's built into the engine and most importantly they have stood the test of time with most of them being original and even one guy who drove 2 hours to work every single day for 4 years and sent it to the shop for a noise issue... it's not that people are crazy its just they are driving one of the most capable cars ever built.
