It's all rock and roll. Why anyone would arbitrarily choose to blow off these concerts of immense rock.n.roll energy just because of its gospelness still is beyond me. Bob went electric in 1965. Bob himself was absolutely electric in his gospel shows.
Well, I'm pressing on. What a consert in Toronto 1980. Wish I was there. But I was in Drammen Norway in 1980. It was a blessing. I never forget. "We want Dylan, not Jesus!" People shouted and dropped smoke bombs inside the consert hall. Dylan and his band continued. He was just pressing on, no matter what. Didn't care about people mocking him or shouting at him. I wish he would continue doing this spiritual thing again. I miss Dylan being so brave. Now he's keeping a low profile, keeping quiet, not talking about Jesus. I wish he would sing his spiritual songs more, over and over again. Pressing on is all about not giving up. All though we are like dust, so weak, and we may fall into temptation and sin against God. We may even be afraid of People persecuting us. But what we should do, and what I really wanna do, is to continue following Jesus, and to press on - to the higher calling of my Lord. God bless Bob Dylan. :-)
Kai Falck join me brother as we pray. God's word says that our ending is better than our beginning this we know as true. Bob Dylan has not been snatched out of God's hand. I believe there's going to be an outpouring of songwriting like there was in this era again from Bob. God's perfect timing amazing.
@@DeJaMo42 Listen to yourself. You say you love his genius song-writing and "dont' give a ships for all this Biblical crap" -- but that is Dylan's songwriting! Irrational!
As a 20 year old kid who started to read the New Testament and decided to follow Christ (no church people involved at that stage...) Feb 1981 at Cayucos CA. hearing this song was petrol to a fire which never burns out. Thanks Bob & gang.
My favorite Christian song, created by a man born into a Jewish family. Bob is something else, isn't he? He has written some of the best Christian songs I've heard, during the 1979-81 period. I've been told by several not to buy those albums, but I did and found they were great. He says he was originally inspired by Roger McGuinn, of Byrds fame.
God bless all my brothers aand. Sisters out there especially at this time in the world, help each other love each other and press on together ps Dylan was a prophet,
Um..They continue to offend, scandilize, entice, and entrap. They do it all without any led direction to map. I agree with you here; It's The Lord Who Leads The Path. Since the very beginning, the very best has always been given and the torch has always been passed from one to another to keep pressing on. It's always been likened to the sweetest spiritual angels like you way, to carry the voice of the day. If you've ever noticed, it's often been by song. The Lord Gives the best, just like the song of David Psalms, and the song of Solomon, and on and on. The Lord is Happy with you now, and I can hear Angels singing on high with you in the highest of background, sounding like wow! The enemies of The Lord will always come to steal, devour and destroy, but I'm here to back you up and tell you to have no fear because His Power is Mightier than all of His enemies, and every day, hour, and moment with you, He Shall Always Be Near. He Shall Hold you up, and upon you spread His Wings to hold you close even when no one comes near, and you will feel His Essence Saying, "I Am Here." It shall calm your heart, soul, body, and mind, and He'll Forever More never leave you behind. He Is merciful and kind, and whenever you get weary, He Shall Always Rewind. Even if you sometimes falter or have a small doubt, abandoned love will never be what The Lord is all about. Nope, He's not like that; He's Perfection in every way, and He Shall Help You Refine yourself and your words until you no longer even ask yourself, "What should I Say?" With God really on your side now, you have it all, and you have it that way. He never chains you up, for He bore all of your sin and everyone else's without any Pride. Your Spirit is truly Free Now, and from Him You Shall Never Have To Hide. Amen and Amen Hallelujah. I love you Bob Dylan. Carry On. From VC 😘💞🧡😎🎩💐💕🌹🌟💖🔔📯🎷🎸🔔🎼🎶🎵🎤🔔🎸

It's all in the Bible. When you see someone in pain, stop and help. Start at gut and street level. That's our appointed instructions from The Creator. Now, dont blame him, get up and do something.
Yes, many great lyrics in Bob Dylan's repertoire, but this tune has this Masterpiece . . . "many try to stop me, shake me up in my mind". Doesn't that address a lot of challenging crap we have in our lives? So do still keep 'pressing on'.
In 2020 I was hit by a car in Florida and almost killed. I many months unconscious at Memorial Regional Medical Center in Florida. During that time I saw my beloved son Christian who had crossed over from drugs. But I had no idea Christian was physically dead. But when I hobbled out with my cane to pull my son off of my Dads back the Angel pointed at me and I felt elelectrical shock going thru my body and I fell back into my room. It's unfortunate he stopped performing his gospel music and proclaiming Christ confrontationally, but it probably gets exhausting. It's the only thing that people need to hear, but it's the only thing we seem to reject. Like Dylan said, "temptation ain't an easy thing Adam given the devil's reign. Because he sinned, I got no choice. It runs through my veins." He's begging God to forgive him. This isn't an act. He really believe that and most likely still does.
Bob did two concerts over two nights in Toronto in 1980, at Massey Hall, and i was at both of them. I was given a ticket to the first night and bought two more for the second night. Some people walked out of the concert, because he refused to play his famous song, Lay, Lady Lay. Understand that the whole album, was a Christian themed group of songs. Bob said later that many of his friends refused to talk to him after he went over to the Light side. Of course, many people in the music industry are into the dark side, so he was back to being the lone wolf, like he was when he started his career. Also remember that Bob is a Jew and his Jewish relatives are ordered to shun him, when a Jew accepts Jesus as the messiah. In fact, some Jewish families have a funeral for the relative they consider to be dead, because they accept Jesus. Which goes to prove the point, that sometimes family members can treat us worse than they treat a stranger. Now you know why Jesus said to pray often.

His gospel music is the most inspired music he had done since the turbulent 60's. Black gospel music, awesome and wonderful!
This song is "black gospel music". But, his best Christian music is Slow Train and Precious Angel which is White Christian music.
