youtuber Drew Gooden made a comedy video where he bought a bunch of random cat toys he saw in instagram ads and gave them to his cat there was one that looked like a pool table, a bunch of noisy things that moved across the floor, a tube. In the end, the cat's favourite toy? A scrunched up reciept
Exactly. My two cats favorite toys are Nerf gun darts and my kids' plush toys. The cats also play in the cardboard boxes things come in. Happy Caturday.
Yes, exactly! (๑˃‿˂) I learned early on that our cats like the packaging the toys come in more than the toy itself! This year, I started making my own cat toys, and it’s helped me learn about each one’s preferences and play styles. (๑•‿•๑)
I fall victim to marketing all the time! My cat's toys are in cute colours/shapes for MY enjoyment- But I do try to be mindful. She prefers soft ball-shaped toys that she can bat around, and fishing-rod style too. No crinkly stuff! She hates it lol. Totally agree on the litter robots and scented litter. Great video!
All cats are unique too! Some of my kitties like to chase, others like to roll and kick and others just like to chew. I had to find different toys for all of them. One thing they do all have in common though is they hate bells! Every cat toy has bells on it and my cats hate it! I always have to remove them because my cats will just not play with them otherwise. I also can't help but think they might be choking hazards?
As many bells as there have been in cat toys over the years, I don't think you have to worry about cats choking on them. I'd worry more about them ingesting strings.
@ I suppose you’re right. They’ve been around long enough and I haven’t heard of issues so it must be safe. Oh yeah, strings are not good for cats! I try to avoid toys that have strings and never leave them unsupervised with ones that do. I’ve seen people make knit and crochet toys for their pets and that’s always my concern about them.
