      Agreed. And we need a quality backup center now. Herbig was constantly pushed backward. He’s not a center.

    Frazier has excellent field IQ as you can see he has good core strength and is never overwhelmed by the strength of his opponent almost making it look effortless you can tell bro knows what he is doing great draft pick khan artist 💛🖤

    He is tough . The kid broke his leg and was more concerned with getting off the field and saving his team a timeout than the injury. Born to be a Steeler.

    Great breakdown as always Alex. First watch I was focusing on him and Fuatanu and I was highly impressed with Frazier and surprisingly not as much with Fuatanu. Frazier looked really good on almost every rep, and no issues with the snaps like when herbig was in there. I guess that might be the difference between a true center and a guard turned center. 🤷🏻‍♂️. I know it's early, but Frazier really impressed me with what I saw.

    He does look good for first NFL game! He will get better and better! Snap’s looked good. And first snap after a bad block he fixed it right away. Definitely the best looking center since Pouncy. Thanks Alex! As always great work!

    To be fair, on the one bull rush it looks like the d-lineman has a hand up under his chin rather than his pads. I’m confident Frazier will be just fine. He has a reputation as a very hard worker

      @wv4776 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I think it’s obvious he’s a better RT than a LT. He’s got a ton of power and good straight line speed for a big guy but he doesn’t have the quick feet that a great blind side blocker needs and his technique with his hands looks weak to me but I’m no expert. Obviously he’s gonna want to play LT because there’s way more money as the blind side blocker but I’m hoping he stays right and fautanu can take over at left.

    Yo Alex! Great work as always, just wanna apologize because I sometimes forget to like your videos but will not forget moving forward. I was mostly relieved at the methods that Arthur smith uses to zone run. Much Breyer than our old zone nonsense. I hope we don’t get away from power completely. Canada was stubborn and we couldn’t run the ball the first half of the season. Is he the worst OC in team history?

    I saw very few OL traps & and very little OL pulling on Friday. And the few gap/trap/pull run plays Pgh DID run vs. Houston were BY FAR the best run play results of the day, imo.
    AFC North defenses are going to suffocate Smith's "power zone" run blocking concept. AFC North defenses are too fast & too good for such predictable/simple/straight-up zone run blocking schemes... mark my words.
    Pgh's running attack became dangerous+productive last season (for the first time in YEARS) when Jones entered the lineup & his athleticism enabled OL gap blocking - traps & pulls.
    I really, really like Smith's screens, play-action, receiver routes & play-calling... but I absolutely HATE his default zone run-blocking concept. That stuff might work in the AFC South, but straight-up zone run-blocking will get BURIED vs. Baltimore, Cleveland & Cincy.

    • @Alex_Kozora
      @Alex_Kozora  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There were a ton of them. Some just not successful b/c the guards got caught up in the wash. But probably half of Smith's runs were man/gap.

    • @mpower1969
      @mpower1969 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Alex_Kozora half?!? there were two pulls & zero traps in the entire first half. anderson made a meal of one, and frazier looked great on the other. OTOH, the zone blocking often had an OL 10yds. into the secondary blocking air while the RB was swarmed 15-20 yds. away. on the other side of the field.
