HOW TO STRETCH A LARGE CANVAS - BA Fine Art, University of Derby

BA (Hons) Fine Art Final year student Richard Lapthorn and programme leader Carl Robinson work through stretching a large canvas, over 2 metres tall. Richard will paint onto this as part of his final Degree work.

The roll was purchased from Jackson's Art supplies. You can order online and get delivered direct.

What kind of wood is that ??

The wood was ordinary softwood from a timber merchant. I think it was 4" x 3" planed. There should really have been another cross-bar going across those two upright bars, to give extra stability.
