    I used my Nuclei FL for about 4 months now. What a beast! Extremely light, but the warmth is even more impressive. Keep it going Chris 👍

    Bought both Nucleis in the same order, since FL was on -40% sale. After 14 mo experience, I’d say that FL is a great all around piece for low activity high warmth in single digits °C (minus or not). Great weather resistance.
    Nuclei SV was my choice in the first place for overall winter jacket for replacing my old Marmot down monster. Amazing in -15°C and lower, lots of room for added layers and as good weather resistance as it gets. SV is far too much of a jacket for anything close to zero °C and any strenous activity, but amazing value for what it offers for colder winter use.
    Just be sure to size down the Nuclei SV if planning to use with less layers. It’s a belay jacket meant to put on EVERYTHING else, so it’s a tent.

    Continuing to love the channel. As far south as I am I’m thinking the FL would be outstanding when it’s cold and windy.

    Great video and info, how would the Nuclei FL stack against the Atom LT in terms of warmth? They’re very similar in weight

    • @meandmyjackets
      @meandmyjackets  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Nuclei FL is absolutely warmer than the Atom. Mostly due to the fact that it is not very breathable at all. It is an amazingly warm jacket for it's weight, and totally windproof. I love my atom LT, but the Nuclei is very different. I have a video comparing the Nuclei FL with the Atom Lt and The Proton LT. Check it out. 🙂 th-cam.com/video/6UDgyHlKXN4/w-d-xo.html

    Do you think the norvan shell will layer over the nuclei?

    • @meandmyjackets
      @meandmyjackets  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hi, sorry for the late response. I think that even though the nuclei is a light weight jacket, it may be a bit tight. This norvan is designed for running, so maybe only a light fleece layer under it.

    Nuclei FL is great, it's amazing how well it blocks the wind. I'm considering getting the SV next winter to replace my Thorium, as it's a bit warmer and longer. How big would you say the difference is in warmth (between Nuclei SV and Thorium AR)?

    • @meandmyjackets
      @meandmyjackets  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The thorium is a great jacket, but the Nuclei SV is on another level. The SV is a bulkier jacket, and consider the fact that it's sized very big. It will fit over it's equal in size thorium! Watch my video on the Nuclei SV to see how and why I downsized.

      @@meandmyjackets Thanks Chris! I've seen that video, good tip. I'd probably downsize from L to M. How much warmer would you say the Nuclei is vs the Thorium?

    • @meandmyjackets
      @meandmyjackets  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure how to answer that, It is warmer, significantly. I've been outside in -10 degrees wind chill with the SV, and I was perfectly warm with just a tee shirt underneath.

    hey mate do you think i could get away with the fl as my ski jacket for this season? Gonna be spending spending most of my time just below 0, can i get away with some warmer layers under it, and how will it go in snowing conditions?

    • @meandmyjackets
      @meandmyjackets  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I love this jacket, but I wouldn't recommend it for skiing. It's not going to be very waterproof. Windproof... yes, but it will get wet. It may be a good layer under a shell. I would also think that you may want something to be more breathable too. Another thing to consider is the fact that the face fabric is very thin and light. It's not very durable. It may tear easily if you fall at a high speed on ice or packed snow.

    How many jacket have you got all in all. And how many from Arcteryx?

      I own about 45 pieces from Arc'teryx. 1 Patagonia. I can't afford to buy all of these jackets from all these brands, nor do I need over a hundred jackets.... My wife already thinks that I'm crazy!🙂
