My inner aging band geek was pleased to see this list. I still get goosebumps listening to Maynard Ferguson’s soaring trumpet solo in Gonna Fly Now.
I’m so glad you said “Anything by Miles Davis”, there are so many tracks and albums, I wouldn’t pick “Bitches Brew” though it was groundbreaking it’s not something you can enjoy every day, like the also eternal “Kind Of Blue”. But I really miss Chet Baker from this list. So many fine records, that trumpet feel and also his very special voice. There are many more, but he came to mind instantly.

I've been loving these instrument top10's
One of my favorite solos would have to be after you’ve gone the trumpet solo by one of the amazing trumpet players Roy Eldridge from the 1946 concert which features some of the best jazz musicians ever including Willie Smith and Charlie Parker on alto saxophone Lester Young on tenor sax Lih Young on the drums among others what a fantastic recording. I also love the song Java by herb Alpert herb Albert was one of the greatest musicians ever. and I also think my last day this is great too especially on cell what especially from the live at the plug nickel concert and also imagination and walking.

I will never forgive my school band director for making me switch from trumpet to trombone (because nobody else could play it). Curses!!! lol
If you ever do a trombone solo list I'd definitely expect William Bilal in Phi Funk Slide (best version is during a college football game) to be on it.

I pulled this up to hear trumpet music not a narration of trumpet music.
How about Billy Butterfield's solo on "Stardust" with Artie Shaw's band?
Too much talking, too much verbal describing rather than letting the horn do the talking. There was more talking than trumpet playing on this video.

Credit where credit's due, a quality music list. I probably would've included something from Chet Baker (before he got all his teeth knocked out lol), but very solid otherwise.
I am surprised Herb Alpert was not on this list. My three favorite of his is "El Solo Toro," "Rise," and his cover of "Zorba the Greek."

This list is simply silly. I can't imagine what WatchMojo was thinking when they made it. A trumpet solo from Blood, Sweat & Tears or Chicago and none from Freddie Hubbard, Clifford Brown, Roy Eldridge, Clark Terry, Fats Navarro or Chet Baker and a host of others, let alone the man many regard as the greatest trumpet player of all time, Maurice Andre. Back when Andre would appear at Carnegie Hall, the front row center section would be filled with New York's jazz trumpeters. They came to see the man. Of course, he played baroque music, but still. This is a pop list, and not serious. And does any real trumpet fan think Miles Davis was better than Armstrong? Even Davis occasionally admitted that Pops was the king. But leaving aside that debate, most of this list was inconsequential mediocrities who had one well-known pop riff. And the list doesn't mention Armstrong's unbelievable solos on West End Blues or Potato Head Blues from the Hot 5 and 7 days, or his blistering solo on St. Louis Blues from Louis Armstrong plays W.C. Handy. And there's Freddie Hubbard's solo on Stolen Moments, or Lee Morgan's solo on Blue Train or too many others to count that are better than the crap that makes up the bulk of this list. I have to assume the people who put together this list haven't listened to much trumpet playing.
I came here knowing that WatchMojo would disappoint me..... Where is Capital Cities??? Some of their trumpet solos are better than some of these on this list.....

So WatchMojo DOES know Chicago exists. "Beginnings" is a fantastic song but "Street Player" from Chicago 13 would have been a much better pick. The trumpet was played by Maynard Ferguson on that song.
You left out Chuck Mangione while he did Feels So Good.
