Another good solution for holding carvings is to use a wooden artist easel that goes up and down. I screw it to the floor and use clamps to hold the work to the easel. I already had the easel so cost me nothing.
Awesome carving studio and I love the color change. It really makes the carvings you're working on stand out. I'm currently trying to figure out the lighting situation in my garage studio. I like how I have it but it could be improved.
Love it man. Did you carve the crucifix on the band saw? I’d love to see it. 2 carvings I want to try are a 36”- 48” crucifix and the Pietà. Does the black wall help when carving or is it just for video purposes?
