Through the series, Kingdom Hearts has shown many Keyblades, plenty of them iconic to certain characters, but others existing as alternate skins for gameplay purposes. It makes me wonder which Keyblade would Digimon characters get if they were keyblade wielders
Imagine if Pete had either an Etemon or a WaruMonzaemon as a partner. Albeit being practically the recurring comic-relief villain, they would still show themselves as a competent threat to the heroes.
Wendigomon is such a lovely and terrifying pick for vanitas. Just as wendigomon wears a fake mask above his face, as does vanitas wear the face of sora but is something deeply sinister and different.
I love the idea of Xion with Opossummon! A unique and cute pairing, especially with it's evolution. I'd enjoy seeing Xion along side Cho Hakkaimon, plus they are both hooded. A perfect match!
Kairi's kh3 outfit gets two little cat ears, so there's 1 point up. And kitty gets claws, metaphorically speaking, in Remind against goat xehanort, not to mention literally getting angelic wings in her reaction command with sora in the same way gatomon -> angewomon gets wings. Top choice, couldn't stand behind this more!!

The line I gave Roxas was: Popomon Frimon Spadamon Musyamon Butenmon Gaiomon I gave him these as a sorta reference to his initial use of just one keyblade and then to his eventual use of two. It also referenced the Samurai Nobodies he commands
I thoroughly enjoyed this little crossover surprise. Oh, and a quick though I had was that Hexeblaumon would be a great fit as Aqua's partner, seeing as it is a digimon based on whichcraft and Aqua is very magic focused character who had a penchant for more ice based spells(The only water based spell I think she gets is called bubble blaster I think. Which is sad since now water-ra-ga are now a thing). It even has that triple hexagon symbol, which while not exactly a star, could be a nice reference to the wayfinder trios...well wayfinders. Now if only I could find a armor digimon for the line....
And even doing it with the ice motif there is still the connection with water due to ice being the solid state of water. Also, I just realized that Aqua has one less unique command style compared to Terra and Ventus since the two of them each have two unique level 2 command styles while Aqua has only one.
I was absolutely not expecting this many characters to be covered and I love it. I really like Mastemon as a choice for Roxas, especially since Sora has an angel as well. I'm not 100% on what throughline I would give it but that as an end point I think is really solid. It's so hard picking my favorite here; Mephismon is PERFECT for Master Xehanort as you said, as is Barbamon. Duskmon and Ladydevimon X are also so so perfect for Xemnas and Ansem respectively and I just never would have even considered them.
I love that you are CLEARLY a Kingdom Hearts fan and are totally up to date. It makes this so much better. KH and Digimon are two of my favorite franchises so this video is amazing thank you. Also those ANNOUNCEMENTS!!
Once again, you knocked it out of the park!! When I made my own list, I had Roxas with Imperialdramon to reference the black/white duality. Aqua for me got MarineAngemon, sweet but powerful. I couldnt resist with Terra and gave him WarGreymon (slide to BlackWarGreymon). WarGreymon just feels right with the whole.. TERRA FORCE!! ☄️
I am shocked you didn't give Donald and Goofy, Bokomon and Neamon not only for the frontier reference but because I also honestly think it's a solid choice.
I’m SO happy you’ve done this. Digimon and KH fit so well for the reasons you’ve outlined. When I first played KH I kept saying it reminded me of digimon. And then when the little cat (cannot remember it’s name) had OG Kari’s voice actor I sobbed so hard. They should for sure do a crossover game like smash bros does!
Hm, this was very interesting, you did this one very well, I hope you’ll do more Kingdom Hearts Videos and maybe even a sort of follow up to this one, at some point. Honestly, I really like these Videos, where you give Digimon (and maybe now, also Pokémon) to Characters from other Series/Franchises, i hope you won’t stop doing them. Especially since I have had some ideas of my own, in regards to these Videos.
As a KH Fan (and yes I exploded at the news cause HELL YES), this is very interesting to think about as these two franchises do have some strange similarities despite also being very different. Though I did enjoy this video overall and Karn trying to explain some bits of KH Lore. Also I feel bad for some fans of this channels who have no idea about KH but still watch to support Karn, and have no idea about all the complicated, and utterly insane shit KH has that he’s talking about. But as someone who does the follow the franchise, I find it hilarious. Also Also, Xion is my favorite character in the series. You gave her an interesting and not always used Digimon. I approve. Mind blowing. This video is MIND BLOWING. My favorites from this are Saïx and Young Master Xehanort. But a lot of these are so well thought out! Sora's pick is also on point. And I liked Donald and Goofy's picks 👌 Great work Karn!
This video was really well put together. Also, Riku's Keyblade is actually a dimple key, not a car key. But I can see how they can be confused with one another. Yozora is quite an enigma as of right now, so giving him a partner right now would be very tough. But definitely makes ones for the Foretellers, Lauriam, Elrena, Strelitzia, and maybe Eraqus and Xehanort's childhood friends. Maybe even Skuld, Ephemer, and Master Odin.
I love you just for doing a KH video because I love both Digimon and KH. So seeing you do this after receiving such big KH news today definitely makes this like a comfort video for me
I had to stop the video to write this comment before I forgot, but I absolutely love that you gave Roxaa a Mastemon. The only KH game ive had the opportunity to play was 2, years after it came out. But I played the shit out of that game, got Sora's different forms, reached lv 99 and (after like 50 attempts) defeated Sephiroth. But my favorite character was Roxas, and my favorite part was fighting with his dual Keyblades. Mastemon (and Lucimon falldown) Were two of the digimon I used the longest in cybersleuth. Awesome content once again Karn! Also I would LOVE to see a full line for Roxas

I love the crossover between KH and Digimon, this was so fun to watch and I think the Dream Eaters are the closest thing to Digimon partners that KH heroes have had

The official term for the Guardian is now Dark Figure. People don't call it Terra since it's not that the Dark Figure is Terra (it's not even a heartless), it's just a container made out of darkness that Terra's heart is kept in with Ansem and with Terranort it would get transferred back and forth between his body and the Dark Figure. The whole thing is just that due to being inside of it Terra's heart had slight influences on it and then after Ventus and Aqua cried out to him was able to completely take control of. Also, the official name for Ansem's final form after he fuses with that giant heartless is World of Chaos.
Suggestion for a future video: Final Fantasy VII / Final Fantasy X characters and their possible Digimon partners! Final Fantasy VII characters: Cloud Tifa Barret Aeris Red XIII Cait Sith Vincent Cid Sephiroth (antagonist) Final Fantasy X characters: Tidus Yuna Auron Khimahri Ronso Wakka Rikku Lulu Seymour (antagonist) Jecht (antagonist & Final boss)
Yeah... I know... It would be a lot of work. But it is my most favourite videogame franchise, followed closely by Digimon. And making a video for all 15+ Final Fantasy games would be months and months of work. That's why I chose the best of them, IMO, and put the characters list for you (to ease on the work, if you ever decide to get it done). Although I'm not a HUGE KH fan, I did play the first and second games, and there are some references to Final Fantasy in the KH games (Destiny Island in KH has Tidus and Wakka, and the Hercules Colloseum in both KH and KH2 have both Cloud and Sephiroth, from FF VII and Auron from FF X). But... Great video

Xehanort having Mesfismon is PERFECT. Due not only the fact that you already said but bcz Belphior or something like this, is the símbol of knowledge beyond belief, having to do things for science instead of morality and since M.X. is the wilder of Darkness or at least the Dark path it's amazing that this fit. Also ties into the way Mefistomon holds his plans in the Digimon Tamers Movie, being against the tradicional evolution and going for other methods like Armor. This fits M.X. bcz he doesn't believe that light can change the world.
It may also be a reference to Light but it definitely is short for Luxuria "His name is derived from the Latin word "luxuria", or Lust, which is symbolized by a scorpion in the Ancrene Wisse."
I would love more KH content, especially like this. Also, along with KH and Frontier 20th, it’s Gurren Lagann’s 15th anniversary this month. If you’re looking for another anime to give Digimon to, that would be an interesting one.

I was thinking what about a machine partner for Yozora as we see him using a lot of technology in his boss battle? How about he has Omedamon as his partner as its a powerful Machine mega and comes from a different dimension just like Yozora. I know it's a crossover/April fool joke but I think the lore about how it was born from the data of a game is a cool reference to how Yozora first appeared in a in universe video game advert
For a Rookie and Champion for Roxas, maybe Kotemon in reference to Roxas doing the Struggle tournament as well as the tutorial fight against Seifer and Dinohumon for, again, the dual wield aspect and for his growth (i guess), but i'm not an expert on KH or Digimon. I think the Ultimate and Mega are fine as suggested.
Yeah this was oddly awesome lol. First we got that surprise trailer for KH4 and now this. At this point, we should get a digimon and Kingdom Hearts crossover but all of the picks are very well done and I agree with every single one. Hell, Sora getting a literal keyblade digimon is something I didn't even know existed until now lol. Makes it very cool and unique when compared to digimon but overall, this was a well done list and a very soild video as always!
If Jiminy Cricket has a Digimon, it could be Diarimon or Addmon to represent the journal he keeps throughout the series, and the fact that they’re Appmon references the digital form of the journal on the GummiPhone in KH3
Another Good Partner for Sora would be Gammamon and his Champion Forms 1. Gammamon has a Light Theme which suits Sora pretty well 2. The 4 Champion Forms match the different Forms from II and III with both Games even having a dark Form like Gulus
How about this: What if the members of the GhostBusters had their own Digimon partners? Not just the main four team members from the movies, but also from the animated series, movie spin-offs and comics. And substitute/honorary/junior GhostBusters can count as the DigiDestined Teams as well.
Pretty late here but I kind of like the idea of the white and black PawnChessmon lines to working for Donald and Goofy because of their ultimate weapons "Save the Queen" and "Save the King". QueenChessmon for Donald and KingChessmon for Goofy. Prior evolutions between black and white could switch around a bit but still end appropriately.
Actually Axel was a stand in for Terra. Once they got Terra back he went back to being the true member of the Guardians of light. Wouldn't make since for Aqua and Ventus to be in the group alone without Terra being in.
Loweemon would be a good partner to represent Sora's darkness because of the redeemed darkness aspect and also being a call back to Sora's original lion-like concept. Probably not the first person to think this but wanted to put that out there.
I think Axel/Lea suits Shinegreymon well, and Saix/Isa with MirageGaogamon. Both digimon have a sun and moon pair thing going on, much like these two, and Shinegreymon's tail tip and weapon look a bit like Axel/Lea's chakram. And, of course, Miragegaogamon is a doglike humanoid, aka a werewolf.
If you ever do a second part to this, I think Aegiomon would make the perfect partner for Ephemer. Not only because it looks like him, but because it's many potential Aegiochusmon forms would make sense for the story. He's surrounded by keyblade wielders who all use different techniques and have unique keyblades, so it would make sense for his partner to be able to digivolve into many different species/attribute-inspired forms to reflect that.

The official term for the Guardian is now Dark Figure. People don't call it Terra since it's not that the Dark Figure is Terra (it's not even a heartless), it's just a container made out of darkness that Terra's heart is kept in with Ansem and with Terranort it would get transferred back and forth between his body and the Dark Figure. The whole thing is just that due to being inside of it Terra's heart had slight influences on it and then after Ventus and Aqua cried out to him was able to completely take control of. Also, the official name for Ansem's final form after he fuses with that giant heartless is World of Chaos.

Yeah... I know... It would be a lot of work. But it is my most favourite videogame franchise, followed closely by Digimon. And making a video for all 15+ Final Fantasy games would be months and months of work. That's why I chose the best of them, IMO, and put the characters list for you (to ease on the work, if you ever decide to get it done).
Although I'm not a HUGE KH fan, I did play the first and second games, and there are some references to Final Fantasy in the KH games (Destiny Island in KH has Tidus and Wakka, and the Hercules Colloseum in both KH and KH2 have both Cloud and Sephiroth, from FF VII and Auron from FF X).

Xehanort having Mesfismon is PERFECT.
Due not only the fact that you already said but bcz Belphior or something like this, is the símbol of knowledge beyond belief, having to do things for science instead of morality and since M.X. is the wilder of Darkness or at least the Dark path it's amazing that this fit. Also ties into the way Mefistomon holds his plans in the Digimon Tamers Movie, being against the tradicional evolution and going for other methods like Armor. This fits M.X. bcz he doesn't believe that light can change the world.
Actually.. the Luxu is not referring about Luxuri as, but Lux which is Light.
It may also be a reference to Light but it definitely is short for Luxuria "His name is derived from the Latin word "luxuria", or Lust, which is symbolized by a scorpion in the Ancrene Wisse."

I was thinking what about a machine partner for Yozora as we see him using a lot of technology in his boss battle?
How about he has Omedamon as his partner as its a powerful Machine mega and comes from a different dimension just like Yozora.
I know it's a crossover/April fool joke but I think the lore about how it was born from the data of a game is a cool reference to how Yozora first appeared in a in universe video game advert
For a Rookie and Champion for Roxas, maybe Kotemon in reference to Roxas doing the Struggle tournament as well as the tutorial fight against Seifer and Dinohumon for, again, the dual wield aspect and for his growth (i guess), but i'm not an expert on KH or Digimon. I think the Ultimate and Mega are fine as suggested.

Yeah this was oddly awesome lol. First we got that surprise trailer for KH4 and now this. At this point, we should get a digimon and Kingdom Hearts crossover but all of the picks are very well done and I agree with every single one. Hell, Sora getting a literal keyblade digimon is something I didn't even know existed until now lol. Makes it very cool and unique when compared to digimon but overall, this was a well done list and a very soild video as always!
If Jiminy Cricket has a Digimon, it could be Diarimon or Addmon to represent the journal he keeps throughout the series, and the fact that they’re Appmon references the digital form of the journal on the GummiPhone in KH3
Another Good Partner for Sora would be Gammamon and his Champion Forms
1. Gammamon has a Light Theme which suits Sora pretty well
2. The 4 Champion Forms match the different Forms from II and III with both Games even having a dark Form like Gulus

Pretty late here but I kind of like the idea of the white and black PawnChessmon lines to working for Donald and Goofy because of their ultimate weapons "Save the Queen" and "Save the King".
QueenChessmon for Donald and KingChessmon for Goofy.
Prior evolutions between black and white could switch around a bit but still end appropriately.
Actually Axel was a stand in for Terra. Once they got Terra back he went back to being the true member of the Guardians of light. Wouldn't make since for Aqua and Ventus to be in the group alone without Terra being in.
It gets messy in the end of KH3 haha

Loweemon would be a good partner to represent Sora's darkness because of the redeemed darkness aspect and also being a call back to Sora's original lion-like concept. Probably not the first person to think this but wanted to put that out there.

I think Axel/Lea suits Shinegreymon well, and Saix/Isa with MirageGaogamon. Both digimon have a sun and moon pair thing going on, much like these two, and Shinegreymon's tail tip and weapon look a bit like Axel/Lea's chakram. And, of course, Miragegaogamon is a doglike humanoid, aka a werewolf.
If you ever do a second part to this, I think Aegiomon would make the perfect partner for Ephemer. Not only because it looks like him, but because it's many potential Aegiochusmon forms would make sense for the story. He's surrounded by keyblade wielders who all use different techniques and have unique keyblades, so it would make sense for his partner to be able to digivolve into many different species/attribute-inspired forms to reflect that.
I can't believe there is a video somewhere on the internet that caters to my exact interests. If this isn't worth a sub I don't know what does.
