    You're so right. The biggest hurdle in deciding to build a website is FEAR.

    Good morning,
    My name is Gokhan Cukurova and
    I recently found your channel as I am gearing up to finish my first children's book script and out of many many channels I stumbled upon, yours is one of the few that provide helpful information in an open, honest way without beating around the bush so long. You come to your point quickly and the way you explain is very good. Just wanted to thank you.

    Eevi, this video has helped me SO much! I'm building a website with Google Sites and I'm so excited. I did not think I could do this, but your video made all the difference. Thank you so much for these videos Eevi, they are incredibly helpful. You are a kind and genuine soul to do this to help other authors. I am truly grateful 🙏 ❤
    I do have a question... do I need a disclaimer on my website 🤔 to protect my content?
    I'm looking at how to protect my content on social media (I'm working my way towards these videos) and read that a disclaimer should or can be added to these pages and the website. I'm not sure about a disclaimer. Do you, by chance, have a video about this?
    Again, I thank you so much for your time and effort. ❤

      Thanks so much for your kind words! I'm so happy to hear that my videos have been so helpful! Besides my copyright line in the footer, I usually don't have a disclaimer. I don't have a separate video, but you can absolutely add a separate page for it! I so hope this helps!

    Eevi, this is my second time watching this particular video. I was curious about what you thought of blogging on your website. It does seem to consume more time and effort given there's already so much that a children's author has to do to promote their books. I'm not a full time author at this point and wanted to hear your thoughts about this. Thanks!!

    • @EeviJones
      @EeviJones  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree - there is only so much one can do! And unless our blog posts are specifically on the topic our children's book is about, it might not be the best investment of our time, especially if we're just starting out.

    Hi Eevi, I am a first time author and have purchased your program for creating a website.
    I really like how it is coming out and I'm almost finished creating it.
    My book is about a young foster girl who hates fruits & vegetables. I want to include word searches and mazes with fruits and vegetables for kids to print out to one of the pages on my website.
    Do you know if that is possible, and if yes, how I do that?

    • @EeviJones
      @EeviJones  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Lucia! I'm so looking forward to seeing your finished website!
      There are multiple ways you could go about sharing your printables. You could, for example, upload your PDF file onto Dropbox, create a link to it, and then add that link to your thank you note in your Google form. Once a person comes to your website and enters their email address into your Google form, they will then see your thank you note that contains the link.
      I so hope this helps, Lucia! Happy creating!

    Hi Eevi, really enjoy your content. I am currently working on creating an author website and went to your website to do it after watching this video. You're saying it is FREE to do but when I clicked to get started its asking for $47. I'm confused is it FREE or does it cost $47? and what is the $47 for?

    • @EeviJones
      @EeviJones  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much for your kind words, LR! And thank you for your question. Yes, you're absolutely correct - the method I'm sharing in Author Website Studio allows us to create a website without having to pay any of the usual associated fees, like expensive monthly hosting fees or optional annual domain name purchases. And the $47 are for my "Author Website Studio" that provides you with the templates to create your website, as well as all the tutorials. I hope this answers your question.

    Hi Eevi - just thought i'd let you know that when entering your website, the url address has the words 'Not Secure' at the front - may need to either check and/or update your SSL Certificate ! Cheers !

    How do you know whether to use a pen name or your real name author name for your website? I am torn on this decision. I made up a pen name that sounds like a publisher name. I sort of like it, but I might want to be noticed as my real name. Author name.

    • @EeviJones
      @EeviJones  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Jack! How are you? That decision would be completely up to you. Usually, people use a pen name because they want to remain anonymous. If you want people to know that YOU are the author, then you might want to use your own name. You mentioned that your pen name sounds like a publisher name. So perhaps you could use that as your imprint instead. I went ahead and shared the link to my imprint video as well, just in case: th-cam.com/video/hJx0iMVUmPw/w-d-xo.html

    Hi Eevi! Is the domain name free of charge in case a new author chooses their first site to be on google?

    • @EeviJones
      @EeviJones  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Ana, if you wish to apply your own domain name, this would not be free. Depending on what service you're using, it usually costs between $10-14 dollars per year for a domain name.
