@@_louis.se_ the Forester is a 30mm suspension lift with stiffer struts and taller tires. The seating position is higher. Otherwise, it's identical in chassis to the Impreza. At the most, it's the original crossover SUV. Aka, a car posing As a smaller, enclosed bed truck. Take away the suspension gains, you get a large hatchback car, aka a wagon.
They are great cars I driven Subarus since 1995. Had JDM imports as well since here in the UK we drive like Japan on the Left. It is the quickest mass produced 4 cylinder estate car out there. Well worth remapping. 360bhp / 380ft lbs at the crank very possible in a light estate car. The brakes gearbox clutch can easily take the extra power of a remap.
Your truth - SG9 STI were available only in Japan. Fenders are really widened. But, according to catalogs, it has 265 hp & ... 490 nm torque (not sure). Well, it's a mighty refrigerator with the most high-speed gears of Subaru. Nudnik me is back! 🤣
It's the EJ255, but I'm not sure if it has b25 or d25 heads. According to a list I made, the turbo is an IHI VF41. Nudnik is new to me. I find it funny.
@@zoomzabba452 it is definitely ej255, heads... I knew them, but forgot (not the best ones, ej208 has better airflow), definitely vf41. Oilpump is 10 or 11 mm, not 12. I drove a bit one SG9 STI (it was in poor condition) - GDB is much more interesting for driving, but "reefer" is enough quick, fast & wagon.
Definitely going to be importing one of these for the wifey when they become legal in the US! (for some reason, foresters are her dream car, sti or not). This one looks to be in real good condition, out of curiosity, how much are these typically going for at the moment?
Foresters should be everyones dream car if you have ever driven a turbo forester its unlike anything you will ever drive I have driven STI's, EVO's etc. but nothing compares to my old turbo forester
@@KenjiShinomori I work at an engine machine shop that specializes in Subarus. Bought a 1998 Impreza L wagon someone had completely 02 WRX swapped and subsequently wrecked. I stripped the car completely. Shortblock was good, so it went into a bugeye fix and flip my buddy was putting back to stock. I will be building a 2.5 bottom end with 9.5-9.8:1 pistons. Full rotating assembly balanced to 0.5g. Heads are going to be pocket ported and cnc chamber matched to a 56cc sti style to match the block. Hollow Sti cams will be installed after plugging the AVCS oil delivery holes. 1000cc ID injectors, VF34, bigass top mount.
Just a quick shout out. This vehicle is going to DJ K-Man in BC Canada.

I’m a simple man. I see high performance wagons, I thumbs up
Sorry, it's a SUV

@@zoomzabba452 So, it is a SUV when it is stock
LouisChiron 1500 but the one in the video is not stock. So still, it’s a wagon
Always nice to see a manual. I'd love one of these, especially in blue.
That's my car!!!
Thanks Derek! I can't wait for it to arrive in Vancouver!!

Build number is 3519 for all Sg sti from 2004-2007. 1562 made in 2004. Only 793 made in white.
While I love WRB like everyone, these look excellent in white. New owner is going to be very happy with this I'm sure.
Used to have an 05 Forester XT 5 Speed Manual, miss that car, never got the sti in the us.
Really Nice Subaru... But the Land Cruiser at the back, looks beautiful
Surprising thing about the legroom. There looks to be more legroom in the same generation legacy
If the Forester STI came to the US it would've been the only SUV I bought.
Yes we had them in Australia, more so the 2lt
These seem to be very popular here in the Kootenays-- I almost see as many of these as I do Delica's. xD
1:38 nah, thats just a weird design detail on all foresters of this gen
So cool

The things I'd do for a pre-facelift Forester STI...
Just can't justify $15k though
how did it sell for?
I want an evo 6 so bad :(
Affordable dream
Nice 👌👍
Wow sleeper SUV
The original crossover SUV. It's a small wagon with good visibility and cargo capacity.
