LMFAOOOOO! Mannnn when that cop car came in at the end, the way the whole theaters yelled!!! N then when we realized who it was oof, the whole room felt that relief. Such a good ass movie!
@@SummerSolstice621 Yeah, I'm so glad they didn't go with that alternatie ending, which was the initial plan. Much better to let the audience expect and dread that ending, then switch it up on them with the surprise "happy" ending.
the original ending was originally that it was a cop that didn’t believe him and he was arrested and put in jail for life. You can see it in deleted scenes. But Jordan peele said when he showed it to audiences, especially black audiences, it just sucked all of the joy out of the end of the film and made them feel so hopeless. So he decided to go with the “fairytale ending” where he gets out and gets away with it.
All 3 movies this director had put out have blown me away and also Inspired me as a white ass person to look more into societys issues. Especially around race. Not only are the hella entertaining but they REALLY make you think
This was a wonderful reaction - would you like to see another movie almost like this? If, yes, try - Skeleton Key (2005) and is based solely in New Orleans and in the bayous of Louisiana... Starts on a plantation and ends with a twist - sorta like - The Others (2001)
“Oh heeellllll no!” What everyone said when the “police” pulled up 😂 This reaction was too real. Definitely entertaining. Loved it. Haven’t seen another movie like this again.
@@sidneyjacques. It was my pleasure, sir. You're doing great so far as your observations are right on and genuine. Great reaction I subscribed instantly..I went to the theaters to see this on a first date with a black man & lol I gotta say this movie of course effected us both differently & had him rethinking goin out with me again 😂 such a great movie honestly Jordan Peele is a genius ❤
The best scene to me was during the party when Chris went upstairs, and then everyone paused what they were doing because Chris was the reason for the party and without him present is was pointless to continue. It intertwines with the term “life of the party.” Jordan peele is a genius.
I thought that was the only part of the movie that made no sense and didn’t fit with the rest of the tone of the movie. There’s no reason for them to all stop instantly like that, it doesn’t fit with their characters and it doesn’t fit with the surrealness level seen in the rest of the movie. Maybe if they naturally ended their conversation and looked over it would have been fine, it wasn’t like they were having fake conversations the whole rest of the time.
You saw the hood ending! Some reactors catch the alternate version that ends with him sitting in prison and rod pulls up to the visitation glass. That version is tough , I for sure love this version of him getting away. Have you done Jordan’s “Nope”? It’s great too!
Angel Heart is a great film, and doesn't get much love these days. It was a big deal when it came out, and then slowly seemed to slip through the cracks.
I’ve had that experience of being 1 of only 2 black people in a situation that started bad, got worse. The other black person didn’t speak until the very end which was weird given the situation. It was group talk therapy. It’s crazy that horror movies can serve as therapy for the black experience. The irony was lost on me, at first. 😂 (laughing through the pain).
This all started with the grandfather, who came up with this implantation procedure, because he couldn't get over losing to a black man in the Olympics,he was convinced that black people had to have something in their genetic makeup, that made us faster and stronger and he still runs at night in the body of the caretaker
@@sidneyjacques. You should have seen it in a packed theater! That was honestly a top 3 movie watching experience of all time for me. Every single nigga in the theater had the same reactions 😂
Yeah that's what I thought when I kept seeing the trailer before it came out lol. I was like this is like skeleton key! These old people jumping in young people bodies lol ?
This is the only one I was watching trailer and like yep I know what's going on cause I figured that's how it was going to go lol how those people acting lol. Had to be lol. After this though I seen us trailer and like what's going on here lol watching every video on that lol them nope like wtf kind of figured that was going to be though had lots of close encounters vibes lol. I'm trying to think of a movie when I saw us trailer and like that's like another movie but can't think of one lol this one and nope definitely like other movies though he does add other twists too to change it up enough lol.
I'm going to be completely honest and say I agree with you about that childish Gambino song, it got so overplayed when it came out that I didn't get a chance to enjoy it😂
In that scene the cop asking for his id is normal tho I've seen in accident and traffic stop videos they ask for the passengers id too for more information.
I hope you check out The Devils Advocate with Keanu Reaves and Al Pacino or the Movie "Bram stokers Dracula" With Anthony Hopkins and Keanu Reeves they are both Great!
Btw there's too much for me to remember about this movie but, the word Buck was a racial slur back in the day. If you re-watch it and hear the dad talking about the dear, replace that with black people. Notice how he had to pick cotton to save himself (putting it in his ears). He killed the dad with the Buck head. The scene where the gf is drinking milk (white) and the cereal she's separating (segregation of color). There's a bunch of other shit in this movie that is genius like that.
