It was great to be reunited with the mighty N507DN for my 2nd flight on it! Since my 1st was a relatively short flight (in comparison to this one) from SLC-DTW, it was nice to finally enjoy a long flight on what has become one of my favorite aircraft in the DL fleet. The cabin of Ship 3507 is practically good as new, and the Delta One suites are very comfortable & private. And of course, the aircraft itself provides an excellent flight experience. Having the cabin at an increased level of humidity makes a world of difference when you arrive at your destination congestion free after a 12 hour flight. And the iconic hum of the RR Trent XWB engines are gnarly yet soothing. This takeoff roll from HND’s RWY 34R provided me another opportunity to enjoy the unique sound of those Rolls-Royce engines! I thoroughly enjoyed my flight on Delta’s A350 from start to finish. It certainly helped make up for the sorrows of having to leave Japan. Nonetheless, I hope to return to the Land of the Rising Sun sooner than later.

Likewise! Honestly, the A350 is my favorite type of a/c that is currently being built. The growl from those RR engines is certainly one of the many reasons why I’ve come to appreciate the A350 so much…
It was tough watching DL retire their 747s, and although I still prefer them by a slight margin, the A350 has done an excellent job as their replacement.
