Phantom isn't as bad. It's perfect for people like me who only do one show a year and don't want to buy cases of the same items. Yes buying by the case saves a lot of money but I just like phantoms products so much. The by one get one free deal cuts everything in half, and if you shop smart with cupon a you can get some nice deals... Plus the free items for spending over 400 plus the quality at phantom is second to none you always know what your getting and they have a great variety.
Sorry for the comments, just wanted to add one last thing, my favorite items are the single shot tubes, and racks of TUBES, I love the height which is needed in tight neighborhoods. Plus you can't beat the almost perfect symmetry of the bursts. Still love 500-gram cakes, but I get to nervous shooting them in the street around houses. When I do get cakes, I usually start my show at my house with single shot tubes, then finish up my show at a local school yard with cakes. Even re-loadable mortar kits make me nervous around houses, I am not 100% sure, but I think even the best reloadable mortar kits still don't go as high as the single shot tubes.
In texas , Nelson fireworks and Alamo fireworks stores have quality . Nelson actually has very cheap , average prices and much to select. But Alamo has smaller stores and more expensive items, but there coupons can get you a couple good items .
Watching these videos make me pretty sad :P. The reason being is that i cant get them in canada. I have always wanted to go firework shopping. One day i will go to Washington or somewhere and get some and light em off there.

I went to Phantom this past year outside Columbus and had 1 small basket it was $300! Phantom is expensive compared to other places and shops in U.S. I have bought a whole cart in Indiana for $400
After last night I've decided i'd rather stock up heavily on the 200 grammers. Maybe just a couple 500's just because of the height. But we were lighting 3 200's at a time and the effect was much more spectacular than any single 500er. And on average 200s are like $30 while 500s are $100 - $200. Just an FYI: Light 2 Phantasm IIs at the same time. It was perfect.
The highest firework brand i would have to say is tnt but i don't really mess with them like that bc to me it seems they have more little things than big things like cakes, like in assortments and things $70 for fountains and maybe 2 big things

I bought some fireworks from Phantom last year. Most of the fireworks were really nice but I ended up with a couple of duds. I do remember one of the 96 shot Pearls I purchased was a dud. I think I got a good deal for the most part because it was by one get 2 free at the time.
i have a small dilemma i'm deciding between getting 2 boxes of canister shells (pro shells and lock and loads) and one small 200 gram cake or do i get an assortment that has 12 200 gram cakes (fearless,hostile takeover,thermal blast, bright nights, massive destruction,doc holiday,my cousin Vinny, black thunder,pro blue,pro green,pro red,and pro gold) the last pro ones i would fuse together for a finale so tell me what you think i should do
I'm in the DC area (DC/MD/VA), I go to Phantom in Breezewood, PA (about an hour outside of DC). Are there any other good firework stores close to the DC area?
I would argue that phantom is great for the big budgeted beginner but keep in mind that what you're paying for here is not quality for best price, it's for the managers suits. They are so adamant about 3" racks and such but forget that a standard can has more composition than a 500g 3" rack. At $89 I could get 2 pyroking scatterbrains and still have money for other things. He was talking just two cakes. They weren't even 500g. I'm frustrated by smug business men that don't understand genuine Pyros.

They got some nice single shot tubes tho Im a premier customer so when ever its off season i always get buy one get one or two free along with free stuff they just come oht with. They got nice single tubes and some of the 200-500g cakes and 1 fountain that is awesome that i always get "firecracker fountain"

This is another reason why I shop at Phantom Fireworks. Here we're treated to a complete tour by one of Phantom Firework's General Managers; and there's no hurry up I'm busy feel to it. We get a nice calm pace by a true professional (brought to us by another true professional). This is a fine example of why Phantom Fireworks is so popular.
phantom used to be a good deal but their prices have been slowly going up ovee the last few years. the excalaber shells there near me are 140. i got to another store near me a nicr mom and pop and they are 60. plus the mom and pop shop usually want to help you more so you come back at least in my experience

Phantom fireworks are so over priced. For example phantom sells Excalibur 24 shells for 199.00 in NH or PA I can get these at other stores for 50.00 break it down for 200.00 you can get 2 sets of Excaliburs. Other places I can buy 4 sets for 200.00. Why would anyone shop at Phantom?
Phantom Fireworks isn't bad if you know how to buy from them. I got all my stuff buy 1 get 2 free. This means I get 3" racks and cakes for under $67. That is pretty damn good at the retail level. If you have the money I would recommend visiting an online wholesale company, but Phantom's Fireworks are actually quite nice and well designed. At the wholesale level you can get 3" racks and cakes at the $40 level if you spend over $2,000.
There are a couple companies that allow you to get 3" racks and cakes at the $40.00 level for spending less then $1,000. Go to WFBoom. They sale wholesale without having a large minimum order. Dave has reviewed them a few times.

No reason you can't go out with $150 and come home with a bunch of awesome stuff. Sign up for coupons with phantom and only buy when you get one.
I still prefer buying at independent stores that carry Winda products. These stores will usually give you a good deal on your first $500 purchase, not on just purchases over $500 like Phantom. Best bang for buck, go independent!

I remember over 25 years ago, I had the a huge batch of the basic generic blue and white wrapped Roman candles. I got a good deal on them, I had a case ofmthe classic 8 shots and the 10 shots, both looked the same except the 8 shots were slightly shorter. We'll Both cases were defective. I was around 20 years old, and almost all the candles were defective. They would blow up about 1/2 into firing. We'll long story short, some older kids came to the school were I was shooting them. They called me a baby and a *ussy for not holding the candles. I tried to explain they wouldn't hear it. So I gave all 3 kids a candle, they all were holding them showing off, shooting them at each other. We'll you know what happened right? One of e wise ass kids was about 1/2 thru his 10-shots, and all of the sudden BOOM right in his hand, luckily it was more towards the top of the candle, he was left there holding a splintered paper tube about the length of a toothpick, and he was face was stone white. I told him, see these candles are messed up that's why I'm not holding them. His friends were cracking up and so was I. I'll never forget that day!
Selling fireworks is a cut throat business. While several of Phantoms items are nice, overall they are very expensive, maybe because of all the unnecessary personnel. The last time I was in their store (middle of June), there was no customers just six clerks setting behind laptops. Store of last resort!

People in California be burnin illegal fireworks and they don't get caught which is weird they go to Las Vegas or to Arizona to get illegal fireworks because my friends tell me that they get them from Arizona or Vegas .
What isle has the class 1.3G shells and 1.3G titanium salute shells, start in the area that starts with 3 inch shells and goes up to 16 inch. Also please show me the isle with all the large 1.3G brown wrapper cakes and mortars for the shells, just and extra roll of Visco fuse and I will be set. Actually make it that special Visco,,that comes in red/white/blue. World Class is a bargain brand. You know this right? Spirit of 76 has mediocre fireworks as well. Best to buy Brothers, Winda,etc from them. But you are then comparing wholesale to retail.

next year get your buget up early and find some friends who also wat to do a show with you an yaw can either take a road trip or get your fireworks shipped to you via rail

World Class is a bargain brand. You know this right? Spirit of 76 has mediocre fireworks as well. Best to buy Brothers, Winda,etc from them. But you are then comparing wholesale to retail.
