I discovered tool a year before lateralus came out and since then every musician I listened to has had to stack up to them and for the longest time I would not listen to anything but tool or apc. Tool Definitely helped mold my psyche and how I approach my life and decisions. I'm forever grateful for this band and the art they share with us.
Tool changed not only the way i listen to music but to an extent how i live my life, talk and listen to my own voice.....just the greatest band i have ever heard and my absolute fave in the world.....spiral out..
Awesome reaction. Tool is my favorite band, all time. I'm 61 and grew up with Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Rush. Tool is the contemporary component I was looking for back in the late 90s. Every album, every track is so good and original, with such intelligent lyrics and musicianship. I would recommend next two songs: Pneuma and Right In Two. Enjoy the Tool journey, you won't want it to end.Btw, I've been to nine of their concerts and they are an incredible sonic and visual experience, if you ever get the chance and they're touring now!
In an interview years ago Maynard was asked if the money was good and how he felt about being a Rock Star. Maynard for those who don’t know is the singer of TOOL and also writes the lyrics for all songs. He responded if they can’t make songs that help people become better human beings or help them deal with problems and tragedies that happen in life then he wouldn’t be making music for just the money. He also says he does not like the term Rock Star and he sure doesn’t want anybody to call him that. And if you follow TOOLs discography you can tell he meant what he said.
Welcome to your new favorite band. Welcome to the TOOL army. If I could jump through the internet I would give you a big celebratory hug. Watching people discover TOOL is our (TOOL Army regulars) greatest joy. Get used to us telling you that TOOL a) does not have a bad song b) each song you listen to will be your new favorite TOOL song c) they are the greatest band ever d) their live shows are next level e) you should just react to their entire discography f) every song sounds different than the last, but it always sounds like TOOL and g) SPIRAL OUT!! 🌀
I grew up thinking Led Zeppelin & Pink Floyd were the masters of song writing. Tool can equally sit at that table. Fear Inoculum is the most incredible album. I saw then live in Auckland New Zealand 2020. Totally blown away by the sights and sounds these genius's created...
Welcome aboard this beautiful journey called TOOL! I'm 63 and experience a lot of great music, but this band is on a whole other level! Can't wait to see them this fall! It is an experience to behold!
It's just incredible how, after so many years not putting any record out and them getting older, they can still output some timeless classics the way they did with this album. Most bands are only a reflection of what they once were once they are out for so long, Tool came back with an absolute banger of an album in which I can say some of the songs are amongst my favorites. Was a bit afraid it would be an "old tired Tool" playing mostly on nostalgia, but no. Sure, most of the album is a bit calmer than what they typically do, but the sound is so mature and the themes fit their journey perfectly. It's absolutely innovating on their sound, yet we can still easily call it a Tool album and know that its their sound, even they it evolved. They are really one of a kind.
Other songs you should check out, Vicarious, The Pot, Lateralus, Sober, Schism, Wings for Marie & 10000 Days (Listen together, Part 1 and Part 2, Song about Maynard's Mother), 46 & 2, Aenema, and Right in Two are all great picks. All of TOOL's stuff is amazing but those are the songs that spoke to me. I'll also admit my guitar playing style is very similar to Adam Jones' style so I may be biased.
@@26anshuman Oh yes. If you're going down this Tool rabbit hole there are rules. Many songs are connected and you need to know which ones to listen to first and in order.
@@thegoatchild3545 totally agree, I know Danny is usually the super star here but I totally LOVE the guitar in most of their songs, I think it’s the most talented and interesting I’ve heard in 50 years of music. Justin is amazing and blows people's minds often but I think Adam is just as impressive in every way, his contribution to this band and every song since the beginning can not be understated. Nobody in any band plays the guitar like these guys do, nobody.
I really appreciate that she quietly listened to the whole song before commenting. It was great watching her face go from a cautious skepticism to really feeling it and enjoying the song.
When you described what your favorite music style was at the end of your video, that's the very definition of Tool. It's my favorite band ever and fortunately if you go down the Tool rabbit hole it will be your favorite too. Bonus: you will also gain alot of subscribers. Tool fans love watching Tool reaction videos. I'm going to subscribe and hopefully see more Tool reactions from you. In fact I'm going to suggest the song Lateralus for the next one.
Who makes an album with SEGUES, INTERLUDES, BACKWARD MESSAGES, HIDDEN TRACKS, TEMPO CHANGES, ALBUM ART, INCREDIBLE ENGINEERING, THOUGHT PROVOKING LYRICS? TOOL. ✌️
Not a lot of people notice it's the ocean at the beginning and end of the song. It's as if the song maps out the struggle of human existence and possible ruin. We came (crawled out) from the waves and can be ended by them as well if we aren't mindful. We need to become caretakers of this planet instead of destroyers or all too soon the planet will take everything back and shrug us off. End of story. "Falling isn't flying, floating isn't infinite" are my favorite lines too. Great reaction!❤🤘
that is the magic of tool three of the greatest musians in history and they hand the music over to maynard and his words and structure and voice make it so beautiful it hurts....
This band. It offers its influences the greatest honour. It praises the greats before them, but takes those and cements them into something even more transcendent. Truly a Tool of music. There will be nothing like this ever again
Thank you for not stopping the song and waiting to give your reaction at the end!!! This was a great song to start off to if you're into Floyd definitely. The live version of "Third Eye" off their Salival box set would be a good one for you to react to. I've seen a decent video from back then of them doing this one too.
Tool are masters of TONE! Their brilliance really shines in being able to set and carry intense emotion throughout their compositions, something I firmly believe no one can match.
Love that you read the lyrics first...very smart... especially important on this track... you'll love this song soo much more when ur singing along. My fav tool song. I've heard every tool song 100 times over...never gets old

This is your first song from Tool ever!? This is your first listen!? This song is to me one of their magnum opus songs the epitome of their career, their spiritual growth, their lyricism, instrumental skill and message to humanity as the tool of the light and love of the All! It was a long journey that involved many songs and messages like this that you would just truly love and make your own. I am so glad you found them and this message at this time in our lives/evolution/awakening/ascension! Great timing. Thank you for sharing this experience with you. Made my evening. All the love and light to you.
I enjoyed your emotional/spiritual/physical reaction to this song. I've been watching reaction videos for a number of years now and they've taught me so much about people's souls and how they are expressed, both musically, in the songs, but also, and especially so, how reactors like you are, quite literally (me too, every time) taken away on a deep journey. Thank you for being so open to the song. It's a lot to take in, but one thing it does for me, is allow some degree of peace from a very active mind. Blessed be. : )

We arose from the ocean and will descend into the ocean. I would recommend Right in Two because I love where the point of view comes from. Unfortunately I think this may be their last album.
Everything Tool does is not just a musical masterpiece, its and experience! There is no other band that I know of that only releases new music sometimes decades after the previous stuff. This goes to show that they will not release anything until it is completely perfected! The song "Lateralus" was written using the Fibonacci sequence...go check it out!
I cry every time I see someone fall in love with Tool. This is definitely not my favorite Tool track, but every Tool track is a blessing to humanity ❤️
A ten strip and 3 of their albums really took me away. I touched the face of god! Hehe 😂😮😮😮 The most spiritual experience of my life. There’s music… then there’s Tool. Peace be with you.
