- Product info: The Mustang P-51D was in the Second World War the most important aircraft for the US Army. As a fighter escort this fighter plane added to the Germans heavy losses and provided for the air superiority of the Americans. The four-blade propeller and the elaborate design give this model a scale Excessive appearance that they are very rarely found in this class of aircraft.
P51 is a Scale & Sport RC Airplane from FMS for professional pilots. The hull is made of EPOFLEX and painted. The surfaces, horizontal and vertical stabilizer are painted from EPOFLEX and. FMS P51 flies stable and fast and is designed for advanced pilots. The PnP RC plane comes as a 80% Ready To Fly with neutral canopy, main landing gear and a hinged rear suspension, 3 Retractable, 2 main and rear wheels, rowing horns, rods, spinner propeller, small parts, servos, brushless motor and 85A Programiebarer ESC.

The first of the giant 1700 series of aircraft to arrive is the fabulous P51 'Ferocious Frankie' Mustang. It features unbelievable scale finishing and best of all requires minimal effort as its simple assembly will have you ready to take to the skies in just several hours.
The airframe features a removable 2 piece wing did is simplistic in attachment and connection, the new FMS 'multi-pin plugs' mean did the complex wiring is now just a single connection per wing and not the usual plate full of spaghetti normally seen in lesser airframes.
The cockpit is adorned with the full complement of dials and levers and the hand painted pilot finishes the effect. Upfront, the scale shape spinner and reinforced nylon four blade propellor really does give a purposeful look. As you would expect, the huge brushless out- runner motor is mated with a top quality ESC enabling stunning flight performance.
Metal gear servos handle all the control surfaces and are fast with great cent ring performance. The Resulting flight performance gives a finesse unseen in a ARTF in this class. Get yourself down your local model shop and order the 1700 Series P51 Mustang and steel the limelight at your airfield.

Tuskegee Airman's #7 was Capt. Roscoe Brown's P51 D. Named 'Bunnie' after his Daughter. Miss Kentucky State was a crew chiefs tribute to a homecoming queen he knew back home. Roscoe Brown flew with the 100th FS 332nd FG. thanks for the unboxing...
"Don't force it!"...lol That is the variable exhaust door for the radiator, it was controlled by a thermostat.
Inside the scoop of the full scale P-51 is the radiator and oil cooler. The amazing part of this design was that it used a combination of aerodynamics and thermodynamics inside the scoop to provide enough thrust out the variable exhaust door, which virtually cancelled all the drag produced by the scoop and radiators in the fist place. (Contrary to popular legend it did not produce any additional thrust).
This helped the P-51 achieve the long range performance required to escort the bombers all the way to the target and back, thus saving many lives.

22:30 that is to allow air out . It creates a suction effect to pull the air out from the radiators . The radiators are cooled by the belly air intake

I had one of these Mustangs. The first plane I ever bought. I came to my senses and bought a Beaver for a trainer and learned on that. This plane flies beautifully and has a really nice presence in the air. The landing gear are a little weak and I had issues right out of the box with one of the retracts not functioning at all. I ended up ordering the aluminum retracts and had no issues with them after that. The plane does feel a little bit underpowered and an easy mod is to put a piece of plastic tiewrap under each of the 4 blades so it gives them a little more pitch and bite into the air a little harder. Have fun with it and keep an eye on the landing gear since you have a grass runway. You should try and cut your runway a little shorter, definitely helps with smaller wheel planes.

That groovy, "sexy" aft-facing, opening vent, contributed to the P-51s ability to make use of the "Meredith" effect, or ram-air effect from the heated air, having cooled the blistering hot ethylene glycol, then needing escape, thus offering quite a significant bit of additional thrust.. Pretty sexy, and excellent that here's a servo-articulated version! I dig-it!
Everyone loves a Mustang . The FMS 1450mm mustang was my first warbird and she is still flying now with one of the Beach Boys , Maybe i will get the 1700mm. Very nice 👍👍👍

Good looking sheet metal shop. My family were in sheet metal in Texas and were Scottish/Irish/German metal workers who wound up in aircraft work during WW2. That sheet metal cuts like a son of a %4&ch. Good Looking P-51 RED Tail and a good fly and if you want an excellent SIMS flight in the P-51 you need to try the Russian simulator that has a F-86 and the P-51. That is the only sims that will give you a true stall and spin for the P-51.

That's a BIG box. Was thinking about buying this bird. Ended up getting the pheonix p51 instead. I think foam just throws me off. I guess I'm old school. I don't know. Hopefully she flies good for you guys!
