Stanley Bailey No. 8C Jointer Plane. Explained & Road Tested

  • The Stanley No. 8 Jointer is a useful plane for jointing the edges of medium length boards. This plane is an 8C with the corrugated bottom surface. I do a quick cleanup and tune up and then test it out on a 6 foot board edge.

      What is the point in owning tools for other people? Who cares about the value, I never heard him mention that it was for sale. In fact, I heard him say how much he liked seeing it clean and nice on his bench. Who are you to tell him what to do with his tools? Always an expert out there

    So many old plane “restorations” on You Tube. What is it about this, the tiniest of projects, that compels so many to make videos about their journeys with Stanley? That said, jointers are valuable as hell to hand tool users and they’re fun to use.
