We just had a huge storm that knocked down all my mature banana and plantain trees so I have plenty of leaves around so I think I’ll try this. Thanks for sharing.
Maybe you can look into how to add handles so it's easier to carry..sinse it's kinda like fabric maybe you can sew them on when it's finished. But either way that's a gorgeous basket ❤😊
This is very creative and defines using all parts of the plant. When I relocate next year I will definately be using my banana leaves and making many different basket.I will be coming to visit you very soon miss Sarah I am counting down my time before I leave.I cant wait to visit all my you tube friends in kenya and uganda.
Bananas have been so deeply woven into many African cultures by now, so that it is hard to imagine that they are not an endemic African plant species. But bananas originate from South-East Asia and have spread from there centuries ago (I learned about this fact recently and was surprised)

I’m intrigued, I rennet doing such while in primary school. Where do you the ribbons from
Thank you for watching, I bought the ribbon from Quality supermarket
After you soak the fibers, do you let the fibers dry before starting to weave?
You let it dry just a bit, it has to stay soft
