In 2018, about 73% of Congolese, about 60 million people, lived on less than $1.90 a day. It is sad that there is not more equality. Only the very wealthy can have a wedding such as this.
My sister had a similar wedding but we do not see ourselves as wealthy. The thing with African weddings is that it is the responsibility of the entire family and friends to fund it. By family I mean siblings, parents, uncles, aunts, cousins. The responsibility is not solely on the bride and groom to fund it.

Beautiful choreography and outfits. The guests on the other hand don’t look too amused. African wedding ceremonies are an entire day’s event. I am sure these guests are hungry after a usually long religious ceremony and the last thing they want to see is an extended entrance dance by the bridal party at the reception that would delay food service even more

I'm beginning to think that it's cultural, meaning that this may be how one is expected to behave at weddings. Most of the female dancers have the same facial expression & seem like they don't want to be there. I saw a video last week where one of the girls was smiling throughout most of the dance. Maybe she was new. LOL The guys, on the other hand, always seem to be having a ball. Side note: I just remembered a comment on another video saying that many of the songs used were religious. Maybe it's viewed as disrespectful to dance like you're in a nightclub to church music? LOL That's all I got.
I notice small things. Like h9w Americans wear their shoes in the house (?!?!). Here, I'm noticing those finely dressed handsome young men aren't wearing socks. It's a small thing, I know. Thatvhas to be the best entrance of a married couple I've ever seen, though, even withoit the socks. Lol
I do notice that while most of the female guests (not the men though) are dressed in traditional African fabrics, the wedding party looks European in their Brooks Bros suits and evening gowns. Just my observations.

The wedding is not in the DRC, it is in the US. The bridal party and the guests are probably resident in the States.
